I replaced the ink on my 6110 and now nothing prints. I thought that they were maybe bad cartridges so I got 2 more and they don't work either. When I run allign it fails with only printing two grey boxes at both sides of the top of paper and a crooked line between them.

ARE YOU USING BROTHER INK??? I MEAN BROTHER OEM INK.? WHAT YOU CAN TRY IS TAKE A PAPER CLIP AND INSERT IT ABOUT 1/4 OF INCH INTO THE AIR HOLE ON THE CARTRIDGE, SOUNDS LIKE WHEN THE SEAL WAS TAKEN OFF, THE ADHESIVE FROM THE SEAL STAYED ON THE CARTRIDGE BLOCKING THE HOLDE. GOOD LUCK SR BROTHER TECH
My guess is that the color cartridge is either defective or not inserted correctly. I have a 6110 and know that inserting a print cartridge is a little tricky. If it isn't completely inserted and the top latch fastened correctly, the cartridge either won't work or produce errors.
Try reseating the color cartridge so it's inserted in exactly the same way as the black cartridge and run a print job again.
Open the following web page and go to Step three to see the instructions for cleaning the electronic contacts on the cartridge and print carriage.
Here are some HP support links that might be helpful... and a couple questions to consider.
Q: Is your new cartridge one of these listed below?
"The HP Officejet 6100 series and HP Digital Copier Printer 410 products use the print cartridges listed below: * HP 56 black print cartridge * HP 57 tri-color print cartridge * HP 58 photo cartridge (replaces the HP 56 black print cartridge for six-ink photo printing)"

Is your new cartridge a refilled cartridge? Some times those have special challenges. Has your cartridge been sitting a while in the box, maybe in a warm spot? Some times even new cartridges dry out a little. Was your old cartridge low or completely gone? Just as a test, if you put it back in your printer does the old cartridge work? Any printer error messages? Can you print a test page or an alignment page for your black cartridge?
These might be too many questions but here are some HP support links with some How To information for getting more answers. Please let me know if any of these are helpful.

Various models do different things so you will have to checkout some stuff.
1. black is green- what it mean is if you take some black ink and wet it to dilute it will sh0w dark green then lighter etc., because black is all colours mixed.
In most printers when a 'black' document is printed actually all colours are printing - take a look under a magnifying glass.
Some printers however allow for 'black' only printing.
But you have to set it up.
So check your manual and software or what comes up on the screen.
Then come come back
