When I plug in the UB-5315, I get a J on the screen (presumably where the number of copies shows). None of the buttons does anything, other than the scroll left button. There is paper and carbon in the printer. What do I ened to do (I do not have a user manual and cannot find one on line).
There was a paper jam. Everything is working fine now. Would still like to have a manual if anyone knows where I can get one on line. What Panasonic calls an 'operating manual' on their website is just a list of specs.

Try seeing if all the cables are plugged into the right places properly. Ive noticed that sometimes when I move my screen around the plug comes out the socket just enough to stop the connection. If its none of these then it could be something more serious.
Pressing print screen itself does nothing noticeably. To capture your screen press ctrl + print screen or just print screen. Open up paint or a word document and paste it into it by pressing ctrl + v. An image of the previous screen capture should appear.
look at the screen when unit boots up. There will be a BIOS manufacture, along with a set of long numbers. Sometimes they appear in the lower left of the screen.Copy down that info and go to this site.
There you can enter your info and it will tell you who made the motherboard
Check sensor (behind panel on the left hand side of the whiteboard screen), to ensure there is nothing there blocking it eg: post-it notes, dust etc. Once cleared, turn the power off and on again and the flashing L should disappear, and you should be able to print again.
