Whats the problem with your radio?
No Transmitted audio = mic cord faulty
Poor Rx / Tx power = poor SWR on the aerial
Dead radio = fuse or power supply faulty or protection diode faulty

I am being told it too much madulation. I turn power level dwn and mic gain dwn but still no luck same sound.

crappy mic? Don't use a power mic, use a stock mic. When the radio was modded, it was done poorly and over done.

If you are really close to some one, then you will sound over modulated anyway.

Try different mics. Its like trying on pairs of shoes. You have to find one that fits good.

Cobra 18 wx st for mobile use, ned to switch reg mic for cherokee power mic. need mic diagram for the four pin

You probably don't want to hear this, but the cobra 18 wx st is just about the worst, and most hated radio ever made. Its a very poor radio.

to be very honest with you, you should get rid of that radio, or return it. Then buy a cobra 29 instead,

for proper mic wiring, please reference this page.

Cb radio

Most of the time this indicates a bad swr. You may have a poor ground or a bad cable. See more about swr here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standing_wave_ratio

You may need to lengthen or shorten the antenna but you should have a swr meter to do this in the frequency you are testing. At radio shack they should have one for cb.

Hope this helped

You should refrain from transmitting until you get the swr down to about 1.2:1 or close.

Cb transmitting problem

Hello kaelea,

Check your ground wire and by your post I gather that you are user some form of headphone device, I say this because normally the speaker is off when the microphone is keyed. I would also check the controls on the headset if you are using one.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,
