You need a new inlet valve. Axcessed through bottom panels below door there are screws in the four corners of the upper one. Inlet valve is where the water line meets a plastic body with wires going to it. for parts.

If the motor is running, the diverter solenoid valve is probably not functioning. It is attached to the pump. With the power off, take the solenoid apart and remove whatever is jamming it. Toothpicks are a favorite as are any large food particle. It may also be bad. Not the may have a defective timer or your outlet hose is clogged or kinked.

SOURCE: Buttons not responding

On my hotpoint with the lcd screen I took the lcd section out and apart and the pad was sitting slightly out from the contact points so I cleaned it up and fixed back together and could not believe that it was that simple! it worked perfectly and has done since. Its not hard to do I promise. P.s I used to have to bang it to get the buttons to work!!

Sounds as though you have a fault in the heating system, it could be a short in the wiring to the heater or it may be the heater itself which as fault. While the machine is waiting to heat the water it will not advance through the program

Good Morning Kate, thank you for your inquiry!

Often when a dishwasher leaks, it is because the unit could possibly be unlevel. If not, water can be leaking over the front lower baffle in the door. Try looking along the cabinet and see if the unit is even with the cabinet. Measure the correct amount of detergent as found in the Owner's Guide. It is recommended to use one teaspoon for every three grains of harness. If regular dishwasher detergent (for sink use) is used in a dishwasher it can also cause excessive sudsing. Lastly, the dishwasher could possibly have a loose water vale or a crack in the tub. I hope this information helps to some degree. If there is anything else that I can help you with, please feel free to reconnect!

Hotpoint LFT 228 A dishwasher intermittent draining problems. Sometimes so much water that it leaks, will drain sometimes but then water appears in the filter again, items in dishwasher sometimes come out...

First perform a vinegar cycle wash in the dishwasher. Pour a cup of vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher. Keep the temperature at the highest setting possible and perform a wash cycle. Then start using a dishwasher most probably that would solve the problem. If this does not solve the problem then there must be some parts worn out or faulty creating the problem.

There are many probable causes of failure .

To clean the dishes the water temperature is essential. It the water is not hot then the dishes will not be cleaned properly. So check the water temperature.

Also check the filter in your dishwasher.Clean the filter if there is accumulation of debris in the filter

Buttons not responding

Sounds like the button pad has worn out and needs replacement.  Generally the wires are spade lug units which don't come loose.

Fault with Hotpoint BCI45 Dishwasher

This a generic problem with hotpoint dishwashers..
Water is present in the flood catching tray at the bottom which usually indicates that there is a leak somewhere. More often than not this is just a pipe with a poor fitting and simply tightening the clip is enough to stop the leak. Our machine had a very slow leak from one pipe (not enough to trigger the alarm) which was fixed in this way. The leak is detected by a small float switch located in the flood catch tray.

Undo 4 screws on the metal plate under the dishwasher 3 at the front 1 at the back, this reveals The pump check the seals are in place on the waste pump.

you are probably plumbed in under the sink for the drain hose. a common problem is water coming back down the drain hose when you empty the sink. if so take the drain hose up as far as possible in a swan neck. other possibility is a leaking fill valve
