I am facing strange problem with HCL ME ICON L74 LAPTOP of following configuration: Intel Pentium P6200 (2.13 GHZ) Processor 2 GB RAM 320 GB HDD DVD Writer etc Fedora 13 ( 64 Bit ) Operating System Problem is that whenever this laptop runs of battery power CPU processing speed get limited to 1.33 GHZ (where as maximum speed of P6200 Processor is advertised at 2.13 GHZ). This laptop only work with maximum processing speed of 2.13 GHZ when the charging adapter in plugged in with the mains supply. I had tried to scale the CPU frequency to it maximum i.e 2.13 GHZ but it was locked at 1.33 GHZ. Anyone has any idea or solution of this problem. Is this a common problem with HCL Me ICON L 74 laptops ? I have contacted many times to HCL Support Engineers but they are not able to sort out this problem or even the reason of this problem.

usually that signals a memory failure of some kind, try pulling some of your ram chips and trying different configurations.

Most probably your hardware ie graphic card do not support software requirements.

First you need to be clear that dual core is the family of Pentium series. so there is no processor called Pentium.............. now regarding your question i would suggest you do not go for dual core... Take core 2 duo or I3 /I5/I7 series of processor..............
