Question about Hitachi DZBX35A DVD Camcorder

1 Answer

Software We purchased our camera at a pawn shop. We use the little CD's in the camera. Can we put these in our computer? We've tried but nothing happened. Do we need software? I have the manual and it said we need imagemixer3(?) Not sure what that is. Also is there a way to add background music and edit the movie and move different clips around. We are very new to computers and technology, but we want to learn.

Imagemixer 3 is a software program for editing and creating DVDs. With an editing program you can edit movies by moving clips, cutting out bad bits, add music and commentaries and titles and make a production you are proud to show off. It takes practise of course but the advantage over film is your original movie is still there unchanged if you make a mistake, and most programs have an 'undo' arrow that lets you go back to fix a mistake. I personally use Adobe Premiere Elements but there are plenty of other programs and they are not very expensive. There are many sites on the Internet that will help you with tuition. Be aware that video takes a lot of hard disk space!

I have used my camcorder but cannot put what I videod on disc as my camcorder is not compatible with windows7

Unfortunately, you'll need to use a computer that has WinXP or Vista in order to transfer what you have on the hard drive. So you have two choices: Go to a pawn shop or goodwill, etc. and buy an inexpensive XP computer - preferably a laptop. You shouldn't have to pay more than $100 for one of these. The other option is to send your camera to a repair shop or dub house that will copy the data to disc and return both to you. Expect to pay about the same $$ for this service. I have an Everio GZ-MG130E Camcorder but I've lost the software when my computer crashed Where can I download so that i can transfer the film of my daughters wedding to my computer.

Hi Antonius,

Welcome to FixYa.

Unfortunately, JVC does not provide the complete software for download. You will have to purchase the software by contacting JVC support in your country.

But, you can transfer the files to your computer without installing the software as shown in the below images:

Reset button ?

Sometimes there is a reset button and sometimes you have to reset it through a menu. Of course, if it won't turn on, then you can't get to the menus.

May I ask, what is you Toshiba camcorder's model #?

Tips in buying auctioned canon zr45mc mini dv camcorder

Don't buy it. Buy a real "digital" camcorder with a hard drive. You want one that you can simply upload video from camcorder to your computer using USB. This piece of **** needs firewire cable and to "record" to your computer using software. Don't use mini dvds, they are stupid. Just get a camcorder with a hard drive.

Software

You don't have to have the software to upload to the computer, however you do have to have the software to view it on the computer.  I have had this camera since it first came out and I had to purchase software to convert the video files to a format my computer could view.  I have a Mac, and I use DropDV.  It works fine and lets me edit in iMovie which comes with the Mac.
On the PC if you lose the software like I did after a computer crash, you will have to purchase the software separately.
