Hi, my HP nc8000 laptop does not start. pwr led does not come on.
HD led and cpu fan stop after few seconds. Request for your advice.
This is likely a problem with the internal power conversion in the laptop. Here's a couple of things to try to see if it works.
1) This can sometimes be caused by a completely dead battery. Try pulling the battery out, plugging the laptop in, and turning it on again. If it will run without the battery in, then all you need to do is replace the battery.
2) Check your power cord for any rips or exposed wires. If the power converter is shorting out it may cause this problem as well.
If neither of those things works or is true, then it may be a problem with the laptop's motherboard where it distributes the electricity to the rest of the computer. This would have to be looked at by a professional repair person or HP's warranty department, if you still have any kind of warranty on the computer.
Hope this is helpful!
