Asus eee pc 1000ha wont take charge from adapter

try unplugging from the mains, remove the battery, hold the power button down for 30 seconds. plug the mains adapter in and try turning on. if it doesn't work then it's either the power socket or the mainboard.
if it does work, then try it again with the batter in. if it stops working then your battery's shot.

try and check your ram. I have had the same problem with a toshiba laptop and that was my problem. If you have 2 sticks try taking one out and booting up. if the same thing happens replace the ram and try again. and if both the memory sticks dont work in one slot try the second memory slot. Hope this helps.

Hi, I have acer aspire 5520,2 Gb RAM... When I turn on my acer, everithing works just fine, exept monitor,it remains black,When I try ecternal monitor,it works fine, windows wors fine to,everithing but the...

Aspire 5520 has LCD Display. The screen displays becomes dark/ dim if there is no backlight.
There are two parts responsible for lighting the display. First is the CCFL (Cold Cathode Florecent Lamp), which is the back light and the second is the Inverter board, which provides high voltage to the CCFL. These parts are inside the LCD screen. Either of the parts may be faulty or in some rare cases both. Also, the video data cable may be loose or faulty, which can be identified only after opening the top cover.
So, my advice is that you get it properly checked by any professional for replacement of Inverter or CCFL.

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

Hi, my HP nc8000 laptop does not start. pwr led does not come on. HD led and cpu fan stop after few seconds. Request for your advice. Thank you.

This is likely a problem with the internal power conversion in the laptop. Here's a couple of things to try to see if it works.

1) This can sometimes be caused by a completely dead battery. Try pulling the battery out, plugging the laptop in, and turning it on again. If it will run without the battery in, then all you need to do is replace the battery.

2) Check your power cord for any rips or exposed wires. If the power converter is shorting out it may cause this problem as well.

If neither of those things works or is true, then it may be a problem with the laptop's motherboard where it distributes the electricity to the rest of the computer. This would have to be looked at by a professional repair person or HP's warranty department, if you still have any kind of warranty on the computer.

Hope this is helpful!

WHEN I TURN IT ON ALL THE GREEN LIGHTS LIGHT UP ,THEN ABOUT 5 SECONDS LATER IT TURNS OFF,NOTHING EVER COMES UP ON THE SCREEN

I guess this is not an intermittent issue though right? Kindly do these process/procedure if things able to work.
1. Remove the Optical Drive.
2. Remove the Hard Drive.
3. Remove all memories (RAM).
After removing those devices try to turn on the laptop eventhough it produces beeping noises and stay in the BIOS screen. Have to observe if it restarts again or shuts down on its own. If the scenario appears that it is still shuts down after 5 seconds then, motherboard is not working properly. Actually there would be more troubleshooting steps for this to isolate the issue. If you can able to follow some of the steps then my piece of advice is to call Dell technical support for some assistance by removing some of FRU devices. Things are more likely critical. If you're unable to do the thing then have then replace the laptop in this regard if it is still under warranty. That's one of a good thing. Hope things will help you to determine. Thank you.

Cd stuck inside laptop

There is a small hole, usually near the eject button. Unbend a paper clip and carefully push the paper clip into the hole, try to keep it straight. drive should pop right out.

Third time with LCD problem after repairs.

The original repairs should be covered. Check your paperwork . If they give you a hassle, tell them you are going to report them the BBB. and your states attorney generals office.
Who knows maybe they will cover it again...The extra ram should have nothing to do with it, unless you broke something.
