Right click in speaker icon------open volume control and check that no mute box is checked--------check that all faders are in up position.------go to pc rear and check that you put your speaker plug in green socket and you can apply a spray contact cleaner and check and insert your plug many times in--- out.

Did you recently move any speakers around or any items near the speaker wire connections?
It sounds like you may have a speaker wire shorting which is causing the receiver to go into "auto protect" mode. Check all of the speaker wire connections on the back of the receiver and at all of the speakers to make sure the wires are not touching or close enough to possibly touch.

Well, if the headphones work, then the amp in the rcvr is working.
Make sure speakers are hooked up properly (Spr A, Spr B, etc.)
Be sure speakers are selected properly on the front panel.Look in the owners manual and see if its possible to reset the reciever. If this is an older unit, speaker relay may be dirty or defective or unit is in protection. If unit used to make a click after a few seconds when first turned on and now it doesn't, then the relay is not working.

HK 3480 sound suddenly cuts out

your fuses are blown by possible crossing speaker wire - and + together. I did this and kept turning it on but I ended up frying the unit. Check your wires and make sure that they are seperated properly. If problem continues then unscrew the shell and replace 1 or all 3 fuses (depending on what was blown) with GMA 8 amp fuses. good luck.

Distortion/noise and buzz in front left speaker

Try to see if the reciever will make the buzzing/noise without anything connected to it except power, and speakers. Tune into a local radio station and see if the noise continues. If the noise has stopped, then you know there is an issue with the player or cable.
