suddenly failed to function. Stopped filled with H2O. Timer cycles ok, but no action from pump/motor.  Drain is clear.  How to check for pump/motor or control problem?

Tearing down all the way to discharge impeller, I found and cleared two small olive pits and two fragments of broken wine glass stem. Everything worked since.

To check the motor you must remove the blades and then remove the panel at the bottom of the dishwasher, there you will find the motor.
Check the motor for sign of oxide, dirt stuck, or visible damage.
When machine is on check if blades are running and if you here the pump working.
If you hear strange grinding noise from motor when machine is cycling, this can be a bad motor bearing.
If motor is not starting at all the wirings from control panel to the motor must be checked for continuity.
Afault with control board or timer may often be confused with a motor/pump fault.
This problem can be quite delicate , unless you have experience in fixing large appliances may be the case to call a technician.

Parts follow:
Timer
Pump and motor assembly

Doublecheck with part seller website that parts are right by giving them complete model number for your appliance.

From Kitchen Aid they only come on a new motor. I am a Kitchen Aid service agent and I remove them from burnt out motors and keep them. Look for a service agent near you and see if they can help you out. I have no idea where you are, I'm in New Zealand.

Why the lights on my kitchen aid baking not coming on

Check for loose connections from mains cable to PCB and from PCB to motor. Check motor for circuit continuity, it may need a new motor, it is rarely the PCB.

If the parts are not listed separately, the motor and gears are a completely separate assembly. A replacement motor (assembly) would include the gears

Kitchen Aid Imperial 21 has loud motor noise duing wash cycle

loud motor noises during the wash cycle usually come from a water pump. Either the water pump will stop working soon, or it will keep working for a while longer, and the unit will stop cleaning. Sometimes the pump will stop making the noise for a while before it stops.

When I turn my blender on, it runs for only a few seconds, then stops and all the lights on the panel flash on and off.

More often than not it will need the motor to be replaced, only Kitchen Aid parts will do, motors are usually unique to brands and models. Sometimes it can be the control/button panel but normally the motor.

Kitchen aid stand mixer bought in US, moving to Europe, 220v 50hz

I can not respond to the warranty issues. My kitchen aid mixer is past warranty as well. I live in a country that uses 220V and my kitchen aid mixer is 110V. I have been using my kitchen aid mixer for almost 4 years with no problems at all.

The converter boxes are supposed to blow the fuse on the converter before it reaches your appliance and cause any problems.

If you purchase a 220V kitchen aid (although it would cost more money) it would probably have more power because of the higher voltage.

Hope this helps!

Kitchen aid 110v 450watt, I want to convert to 220v

Hi guys,

The only available Kitchen Aid stand mixers on the European markets are the Kitchen Aid Classic and the Kitchen Aid Artisan.

The best way is to contact a Kitchen Aid service center / repair facility in your area.
Here is the European website of Kitchen Aid: http://www.kitchenaid.eu/eu_EU/ka/ka_europe.htm

If you bought a different Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer (like the Professional series) you probably won't find the required parts to convert it to a European model. The only way would be to use a voltage converter.

I hope this helps.

Motor coupling

Pull the front cabinet off. The pump and motor need to be removed. The pump need not be completely removed, just push aside. Both the pump and motor are held on by simple snap clips.

The coupling must be carefully aligned when reinstalled. Be careful that the coupling pins line up when the motor is reinstalled.
