How do I remove the G board from a KP-46WT510 sony projection tv?

the wires pull out but a better way to do this is with everything else out lift the board up so bottom faces rear of set--be careful when soldering at the chips a quite a number of surface mounted parts near the pins on the STKS.

I have a red shadow in 3d on sony KP-46WT510 TV.

The STK392-560 ICs have gone bad. They need to be replaced by a qualified TV2_bing.gif technician. The repair cost is from $200 and up.

My sony tv model # KP-46WT510 is showing a three D Picture with a red outline

This sounds like convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually charge between $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks!

I have a Rear Video Projector model # KP-46WT510 and it started acting up. It is a double picture when we try to watch TV. Can this be easily fixed?

Unfortunately it is a job that will require an experienced TV technician,
You have 2 large 18 pin ICs called convergence amplifiers who's job is to insure beam alignment of the three picture tubes in your TV set (Red, Green & Blue). One of the 2 chips have shorted and more than likely cause damage to the 2nd one as well. This involves removing the board where the ICs are mounted then rmoving the ICs by a process called desoldering & resoldering during the replacement process. They are not a plug in Ics.
Hope this helps.

Replaced STK's, fuses ok, +/- 22 VDC ok, still can

did you checke the two 5amp IC protectors located on the G board? Those will usually blow when the original ICs fail.

Convergnce sony kp65wv600

You can get replacement Ics at the following link which provides free instructions. I would recomend replacing the 4.7 ohm 1/2 watt resistors along with the two STK392-560 Ics as the resistors can get weak over time and that can lead to premature IC failure. Heres the link.

KP-46WT510 Sony, locating boards?

I have the same model tv, with the same problem... convergence ICs were shot.  As you look into the back of the tv, the ICs are located on the backside of the large heat sinks on the tan board.  The pico fuses are directly under the heat sinks.
Removing the board is fairly easy with the exception of removing the red cables at the rear left side of the board.  You have to exert a lot of force to pull them out (they go into the grey tower looking thing) but they do come out.
I recommend taking pictures of the board before removing, and then make sure you label each connector you pull off the board.  There are six screws to remove as well.
Check with Sonny and Barry at this site.  They gave excellent directions and have a convergence repair kit for your model tv.

Good luck!
