Question about Standard (CRT) Televisions

Doesn't get all cable channels

Hello again,
On Menu setup, there's autoprogram, which I've manually programmed all the channels from 1 to 60 as enabled. Cable/Air, which is on cable. VCR1 Channel, which is 02 Enabled. And Cable Channel, which I don't know how to program. I know it's not a problem with the cable, as I have an old Sony Trinitron tv that gets all the cable channels.
Any suggestions ? Krista

Thanks ! I don't have an external box for the cable, just the cord that comes out of the wall. Does this mean that the cable channel should be disabled ? Also, after 4 phonecalls to Thomson Electronics (the original manufacturers), they've finally told me that I need to get a convertor box. I don't understand this though, as my old Sony tv is analog & gets all the cable channels fine, which I assume means that the cable is not digital, & they've told me that this GE tv is also analog. I'm confused. Should I still try to autop[rogram it with the vcr on & playing a tape ? The autoprogram right now works, except that it erases all the channels except for 51 to 58. Hmmmm. I'm confused.

With the menu set to cable signals, the autoprogram should catch all of the cable channels. The Cable Channel option allows you to use either channel 3 or 4 as the "cable" channel. This is when you have an external box that you use to tune in cable rather than the TV directly. The easiest way here is to autoprogram the TV while playing a VCR tape. That will insure that channel 3 is included.

Does the autoprogram fail?

I don't know what cable system you have. but the TV should be able to receive the channels without a problem. I've done it thousands of times. Unless your cable system is different from what I've seen. A converter box or cable box will work as well as that box will effectively convert the cable stations to a songle channel (3 or 4). Perhaps a call to the cable company asking what the cable standard is would help to figure this out.

Hello

Your TV has to be initilized. It should be retuned to get the channels memorized in its memory section. Then only you can get the channels stored. Hopes that you have its remote control hanset with you. Replace two new cells in it and proceed the folloing steps. Connect ariel to its back socket before doing these.

[1] Press power button on the front panel of your tv. The initial setup screen appears.

[2] Press Ch+ on the remote control handset or on the front panel of your TV to start auto program, or Ch_ button to exit.

The initial setup screen will appear each time you switch on the tv until you perform autoprogram.
To perform autoprogram again

[1] Press Menu button.

[2] Press to highlight Channel Menu

[3] Press Pr Dn button to hilight cable. Press [+] to select.

[4] Press Prog Up or Prog Dn to hilight On or Off according to how you connected your TV. Press [+] to select.

[5] Press Prg Dn to hilight autoprogram. Press [+] to search for channels.

[6] After autoprogram finishes, press "Menu" again to exit.

TO RESET THE TV TO FACTORY SETTINGS

[1] Turn TV on.

[2] Press and keep hold the "Reset' button on the remote control hanset.

[3] Press and release the "Power button" on the TV front panel. The TV will turn itsef off.

[4] Release "Reset Button" now from your hanset.

These are the processes to be done to either autoprogram or turn it to factory settings. Ok.

Hi,
may just need to have channels programmed into it. Go into menu on tv look for a heading of "channel" or "setup". You're looking to make sure that the tv is set for either cable or off air. chs.their should be a reference to "autoprogram" this will lock in the tv to whatever chs are available. goodluck

Hello my mother's rca tv is stuck on channel 91. when i turn it on and use the channel keys on the set, they don't change the channel. i'm trying to get it on channel 3 so she can watch her cable.

Press Setup until you see AutoProgram... press Volume ... you will see the channels start to change. It will cycle to ch 62 or so, then go back and do the lower channels. as soon as it hits 3, quickly press Setup. it will stay on ch3, if not do it again. Once you get it on ch3, press setup until you see Channel Add/Del ... press Volume to add it. Press setup until screen is cleared. Ch /- should now toggle between 3(cable) and 91(a/v in)

Sanyo ds 27510 tv no remote want to setup my tv with an antennea, wont switch from video 2

If it has a MENU button, press it and use the volume up and down to manipulate the choices, press menu again when you get to channel setup. you want AIR if using off air or Cable for cable. Next screen should say start and press menu again, the channels will start to cycle. If htat doesnt do it, you have a new model than the one I just did tonight. OneForall remotes will probably not have the setup button you need to autoprogram. Best bet is to find a Sanyo made universal remote or other Sanyo remote on Ebay as alot of the buttons are proprietary to manufacturer. Some TV's are useless without their own remote if not on a external tuner (cable SAT or digital)

Sanyo DS 31520

make sure your got the right cable mode selected through the remote or autual switch on back of tv. if not it youll only see cable channels up to channel 13 that means in is standard tv mode or air. once you selected cable ...run autoprogram and it find all the channels for you. these newer sets, dont bother with looking for a cable switch, its all done automaticly when you hit that autoprogram button but it would be in the menu under setup.
