Router will not work in windows

Thanks for your response to my router problem. I found that the ethernet drivers had not been reloaded in the reinstall of Windows.

When I loaded the ethernet drivers the router worked fine.

Thanks again

While connected to internet via wireless:
  1. Press windows button + R
  2. Type "devmgmt.msc" press enter
  3. Under the "network adapters" tab there should be a issue.
  4. Right click on the issue driver, and click the option to locate drivers.
  5. Otherwise go to http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads
  6. And put in your exact model #
(Would have found it if you provided it)
  7. Download the LAN driver.

My neighbor gave me a linksys model number rtp300 and i cannot find the drivers. i need to install the drivers to be able to use the ethernet ports.

Hello, Richard.
Thanks for your question. Routers do not need drivers to work, but the ethernet ports on your computer do. It sounds like those are the drivers that you're looking for. Try checking the website of your computer manufacturer and see if there are any updates for your network card.
More information about your router can be found here.
Good luck!

My 2 wire router is working, but we re installed windows and now we cannot connect, we are being asked to insert the 2 wire disk, which we do not have, it is saying we do not have the drivers installed

First make sure wireless network adapter driver is installed and wporking fine.
then if you are not able to see your wi fi network with laptop then you need to check wireless option in router.
For that Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link.
http://192.168.0.1
or
http://192.168.1.1
If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it.
Then it ask for user name and password.
Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank.
Then you can see configuration page of router.
Then click on wireless and reenable it again then save settings and restart router.
then check.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Speedstream 6520 driver

Windows doesn't detect Ethernet connected devices. You could hook up a dozen Ethernet Modems and Windows would not see any of them, but they all would work fine using TCP/IP. It is not like you installed the DSL Modem/Router inside the case of the PC. You do know how Ethernet works, right? The only driver needed is the correct one for your Ethernet card, but that comes the Ethernet Card or the Motherboard Drivers CD for onboard Ethernet.

Found a few things, here are some websites to try:

Unable to connect to internet

Hi.

What do you mean by "reloading Windows"? Did you repair it? Maybe did reinstallation? If so, you may need to install drivers for your Ethernet adapter. You will need to specify Ethernet adapter manufacturer and model (if it is onboard adapter, then motherboard manufacturer and model), so I can provide you with the download link, in case you don't have the drivers.
