Ihave a Sony Xplod XM-460GTX amp and one speaker. I am looking to get the most wattage out of my amp to the speaker. It is a 4/3 channel amp. I know I can bridge the rear channel speakers but on the front channels it doesn't show that option to bridge, not sure if I can also bridge the front channel speakers or if I can put the front right and front left channels the same speaker as the bridged rear channels to gain the extra wattage to the speaker. I looked at the schematic and it seems like the front channels are wired internally as the rear and that I would be able to bridge the front channels also but I'm not sure. Can you answer this?

SOURCE: can the xm-460 gtx be bridged so as to run just

No, because the would require bridgeing the front channels and this amp does not allow for that. Rear only so it can only operate in a 3 or 4 channel mode.

I got Sony Xplod XM-ZR704 700W 4/3/2-Channel Car Stereo Amplifier and 12" sub. it play good for continuous 2 hours but after that starts tripping and goes on off. i checked all wires and connections.

Amp is probably over heating. Make sure the ohm load of speaker is good for that amp. This amp is not really built to handle a bridged 2 ohm load. Make sure ground wire is clean and tight to the body chassis.

Hey i have a sony amp (600 watt xm-zr604) with 2 10"sub(sony xplod).when i raise the volume hight enough the amp go off(red light came on) what can i try

sounds as though (at high volumes) the amp thinks it has a short circuit. This may be caused by the way you have them connected.
Speakers have a resistance and amps needs a certain amount of resistance to function right (too little resistance = short circuit)
The way it works out for the speakers is, if the two are connected to one amp output channel, the amp will see half of the resistance of a single sub. (4 Ohms/sub amp sees 2 Ohms)
If the amp instructions say that it's 4 Ohms/channel then you need to use 1 channel for each sub.
Hope this has been some help.

Is the sony xplod cdx-gt71w able to support a subwoofer without another amp

Sure is.

The sony is bridgable as follows:

  • 100W x 4 @ 4 Ohm
  • 100W x 2 + 250W x 1 @ at 4 Ohm

  • This will allow 2 channels to run 100 watts each @ 4ohms with an additional single channel with 250 watts @ 4 ohms.

The single sub channel is created by bridging channels 3 & 4

    Can I run 8 speakers and 1 sub through 1 1200watt 2:1 Sony Xplod?

asuming the 8s are 4ohms each; wire two in series and that gives you 8ohms then two more in series then you put those together in parallel and it gives you a 4ohm load. repeat with other four for the other side. you should then be able to bridge the sub

series; posative of one speaker to negative of other speaker and that doubles your ohms

parallel; posative to posative negative to negative and that cuts the ohms in half

    Sony xplod 500w 4/3 channel

If the speaker is a 4 ohm DVC (two 4 ohm coils), you can't wire it to get a single 4 ohm load. Try connecting one coil to each of the two rear channels. It may not be as loud but the amp should operate without going into protection.

If the two 4 ohm coils are in parallel, the amp is driving a 2 ohm mono load. That's probably why it's shutting down.
