Toshiba A75-S231 on/off glow ring.

The glow ring around the on/off switch has dislodged from the computer case. I can still turn the computer on by pushing on the on/off button that normally sits under the glow ring. How do I get to the under side of the top of the computer to reattach the glow ring?

The plastic strip you reffer to seems to be part of the whole plastic top cover. I lefted the plastic stip that hides the key pad screws. It appears that the key pad may have to be removed along with the screen attachment screw. There are also two screws marked F8 that appears to hold down the entire top plastic cover. Maybe the key board and screen mouting pionts do not have to be removed and will come up with the cover when I remove the two F8 screws. The P/N # of the lap top is

The plastic strip with the power button/glow ring, comes off. I believe there is at least one, and maybe two screws on the bottom that hold it. Take out the screws that are directly bellow the strip, it doesn't matter if you remove all screws in that area just so long as you put them back. After removing the screws, pry up one end of the strip, and lift up the rest, the strip will snap up and off. I've found that it's easier if you get it started from the top of the keyboard, rather than trying to get under the very end next to the other plastic area for the initial pry or lift on the strip.

I'm sorry, I was thinking of a different model. On this, you will have to remove the screen in order to get the top plastics off. Once you remove the key board and hinge covers, you will be able to see the screws holding the screen hinges. It's fairly simple to remove. Make sure you have all the screws out of the base before trying to remove the top plastic, there are some hidden under the battery, and I think the bottom covers. Keep in mind that the top plastic snaps into place and can be difficult to get it started. Let me know how it goes.

Toshiba Satellite A75-S231 overheating pls advise me

You need to open the Notebook and clean it with an Air-blower mainly near the CPU (Processor) area.

You need to check whether the CPU cooling fan is working properly or not, try cleaning it too, If the problem still persists replace the CPU cooling fan.

That's it.

Toshiba Satellite A75-S231 overheating and unexpected shutdown. I tried dismantling the laptop to clean the fan and heatsink, but I was not able to open it completely. Pls could you guide me and assist me...

I have a Satellite A75-S2292. It did the same thing to me. I just blow the vents & fans out weekly with canned air. I also have an under the laptop cooling fan, to increase the air flow. I haven't had it shut done for months, since I started doing some preventive maintenance.
The changing the thermal paste is not a good repair. Thermal paste will last for at least 20 years, under worse conditions than most computers will ever experience. Removing the processor chip, wiping everything clean & replacing the paste & chip just make more chances for damage.

When i play sims 2 it always hang then my pc will shut down automatically. the spec of the games are compatible to my loptop what will i do?

There is a problem of overheating. Maybe the specs are almost exactly the same as the game requirements. So the PC still has to work hard. This causes overheating, which should not happen if it is even perfectly compatible.

So, this means that something is causing the computer to overheat. Firstly, shut down any open background programs. Also, see that the laptop vents are not blocked by any thing around. Remember to dust the heatsinks, fans and the casing. Also, the keyboard and main vents. If you can, vacuum it all and open up the casing to be sure that all the gunk is out.
