Question about RCA D52W20 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

Now power 1-9 blinks

I tried your suggestion of checking all ribbon connections (man there are a lot of them!!!) to no avail...I also checked a fuse on the board right where the power wires plug in but it was ok...I called couple local shops and they want $175 to check it out if I bring it in and $250 if they have to come and get it and take it to their shop, plus they said it would be between $400 - $500 to fix as that is what the average price for an RCA (thomson) projection screen has been. At that rate I can almost get a new flat screen...any other suggestions before I call AmVets and have them come and get it??? I sure will miss it!!!! Thanks for your time and help!

You can get your deflection board completely rebuilt cheaper tha they want to look at it at the following link. The boards are completely remanufactured and have a full 6 month warranty. Heres the link, click on the ITC 222 deflection board under the RCA parts category. You can leave them a email if you want to ask any questions about the remanufacturing process.

My canon xl2 has stop functioning while shooting the power line is already shut down.. even i check the battery also but the battery almost fine..so please help

Possible main fuse blown. If no other solution available open the unit carefully and check the continuity of the fuses. If bad replace, it's made by littelfuse and is very small but not impossible to replace. It's suggested if you solder a new one on top of the existing blown fuse due to its size. Also ensure all ribbon cables are properly seated or it may result in blowing the main fuse.

Sony KDS-R60XBR1 bLINKS 6 TIMES

When I try to look up blink codes I'm getting conflicting info. On this model is the lamp on side of TV? If so 6 blinks is showing as lamp door error, the micro switch the lamp door makes contact with is either not closed all the way or possibly defective. You can try reseating door or check the switch and wiring connections coming off it. You could try temporarily by-passing the switch by making your own short across the plug it connects to.
If the lamp mounts in front 6 blinks is a defective thermal fuse. The fuse is mounted right next to the lamp. From the back you can disconnect the plug for the fuse and check for continuity if its open its bad.

My oven doesn't work

PF probably means "Power Fail." Check your manual to see if this is true. It seems that there is a bad connection or wiring somewhere on the path to the range that is causing the voltage to droop under load. Ensure the plug for the range is firmly seated in the socket and make sure the plug feels like it is making a good connection and is not loose.

The fuse is likely located behind the back panel on the range. If you feel comfortable doing your own repairs, disconnect power from the range and remove the back panel. Locate the fuse, remove and inspect it. If the fuse is okay, re-seat it and try running the oven again. You can also check the line voltage while the oven is running with a volt or multimeter. If the voltage droops excessively while the oven is on, this indicates a bad connection or inadequate wiring. If the voltage is okay, the oven controller might be malfunctioning. If you aren't familiar with using checking the line voltage, you might want to call and electrician or appliance repair man. Is this range under warenty?

No power

Check the ribbon cable connections between the boards to insure they are correctly seated as a 19 code usually means
Chassis detection, which means its not detecting a valid chassis usally the ribbon connections are the cause of that.

Check on the motherboard if there is a fuse. It may look like a diode or resistor.
Does it work on battery, if you have a charged one?

Lq-2180 continous blinking

Please read through these instructions first and then follow the steps below:

1. Please power the printer OFF.
2. Remove the printer cable from the back of the printer and remove all the paper as well.
3. Hold down the "FONT" and "TEAR OFF" buttons and turn the printer on.
4. Continue holding the "FONT" and "TEAR OFF" buttons down for five (5) seconds and then release both at the same time.
5. Power the printer OFF.
6. Reconnect the printer cable.
7. Reinstall paper and ensure the thickness selector is in the correct position and that the path selector is also correct.
If the situation persists, remove the ribbon and paper and slide the print head back and forth so that it makes contact on both sides forcefully enough to make a loud noise. Reload the ribbon and the paper and try your test again.

No Picture, Sound Fine

Hey John, How many times does the light blink? No blinks - Problem in the standby power section. Might check fuse, R607, Q601, IC601, R612 and VDR601 (should show open). Continuous blink once a second, no pausing - No reply from the jungle IC301 (data bus is busy, shorted to ground, or held high), IK video path is defective. One blink - not used for the self-diagnosis Two blinks - B+ over current protection (OCP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 2 blink fault. Could be a short in the power supply of any of the circuits. Three blinks - B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply circuit, check T603 and R672. Four blinks - No vertical Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. Check IC1509, Q1505 Five blinks - AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the Cboard, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly. Six blinks - No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206. Seven blinks - High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits. Eight blinks - Problem with the audio (AUDIO), unit goes to standby and blinks the self-diagnosis code. Check IC406 audio amp, PS401, and 402. On some newer models of Sony TV sets, this code means that T8005 is defective on the D board. Nine blinks - Replace D 6116 and D 6301 on the "G" board, do not resolder as this will fix the problem temporary. Or Panel Module Error or Thermal Error. If it is intermittent 9 blinks, meaning sometimes the TV comes on and other times you get flashing, then change the switching regulator on the "G" board or check connections. Make sure the regulator is -12 or -13 (negitive). Ten blinks - Check Q8014 and Q8013 for shorts, leakage, or bad solder connections on the " D" board. If the transistors are bad, check R8051 and IC8005, also on the "D" board. I suggest you do a hard reset. Unplug the power cord for 4 hours. Then plug it back in and check it. If it works, great. It not, cost of repair for this is usually around $150 - $250 plus the house call.
