The F3 E2 error code indicates that the electronic oven control board in the range senses an over-temperature condition in the oven.

This can be caused by a failed temperature sensor probe, a wiring problem between the sensor and the control board, or a failed electronic oven control board.
If the oven is apparently not overheating when this error code appears, then your likely failure is the temperature sensor probe.
If the oven is overheating, then you likely have a failed electronic oven control board due to a stuck relay not cycling the oven heating element off properly.

Kenmore built-in oven model 911.30168792 displays F3 code and shuts down... what part might need replacement... or is it more economical to just plain get a new oven?

Hello,
The F3 error code means that the oven tempature sensor has shorted out,its fairly easy to replace the sensor and it cost around $80 or so. It is located in the oven chamber typically on the upper left side.
If you want to replace it the part number is WB21X5301 it could be purchased at your local appliance parts store or online at;
searspartsdirect.com
apdepot.com
partselect.com
apwanger.com
repairclinic.com
here is what the sensor looks like

F3 error (sensor replaced) kenmore stove Oven reaches proper temp then about 15 minutes after starting beeper goes off and error code f3 appears

Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. Error F3 in your range/oven means oven temperature sensor circuit failure. To resolve this issue you'll have to check the oven temp. sensor circuit if the reading is more then 1100ohms then check the wire harness connecting the control & sensor (as you have already replaced the sensor) however, if the rating is fine then it is the Electronic Range Control (ERC) that has gone bad & should be replaced. Please rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
Thanks Rylee

What does the F3 code on kenmore range mean on bake

Hi,

F3 is a shorted sensor error.

The sensor will need replaced. The sensor is a metal rod a little smaller than a pencil that enters the oven through the back wall, usually near the top left corner.

Nothing Works Shows F3 Error

the F3 error code is an oven temperature sensor fault. The sensor is a small probe that sticks out of the back of the oven wall. They do go bad and can be easily replaced. If I had your EXACT model number (found along the inside of the oven door or lower drawer) you can replace it.hope this helps
