    Disconnected by mistake. How do I reconnect?

  • gusta Aug 22, 2008

    I'll log back on so we can chat back and forth more easily.

  • gusta Aug 22, 2008

    Let's try this way.

    No menu button that I can tell. There is a button with an icon of a house. Then around the wheel are pause, forward, list and back icons at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock. These are the only functions on the face of the scandisk.

    Before, you suggested maneuvering the power switch and hold switch. Maybe the sansa scandisk fuze 4mg is different than the model you're thinking. The power and hold are operated by the same switch on the right "thin" side of the scandisk. The user presses the switch in one direction to power and another to hold.

How do you make the scroll wheel turn again?

Your wheel may be stuck because dirt has worked its way into the wheel.
I have 3 ideas--
1) Get a can of computer duster, and try blowing the dirt out from around the wheel, outside and inside edge.

2) Sansa Fuze user 'tenzip' suggests dipping the player, while turned off, in DISTILLED water, if you believe the wheel has something sticky and water-soluble-- THEN let it drain, THEN put the player in a bag of uncooked rice for up to a week. The rice will pull the rest of the water out of the player.

3) If 1) and 2) fail, you may want to try opening the player, disassembling and cleaning it, and then putting it back together. Directions with pictures can be found here;

HOW DO YOU CHANGE THE LANGUAGE ON SANSA FUZE

I assume your current language setting is 'English,' and you want another language;

1) Press the top menu button, and roll the wheel clockwise or counterclockwise to get to SETTINGS
2)Click RIGHT side of wheel to get to Settings submenu.
3) Roll the wheel to SYSTEM SETTINGS at the bottom of the submenu list.
4) Click RIGHT side of wheel.
5) Roll the wheel to the sixth menu entry, LANGUAGE.
6) Roll the wheel to select from the 31 available languages;
7) Click RIGHT side of wheel to select the language.

What if you clicked the wrong language and are now stuck in Chinese (which you don't read)?

1) Press the top menu button. Rotate wheel to the picture of the 4-level 'Mixer'. This is SETTINGS
2) Click RIGHT.
3) Rotate clockwise to bottom of submenu list.
4) Click RIGHT.
5 Rotate clockwise to the SIXTH entry from the top.
6) Click RIGHT.
7) Rotate COUNTERCLOCKWISE to the top of the list.
8) Click RIGHT.
You should now be in the default English menu.

One other suggestion;
Download the PDF Manual for the SANSA FUZE, here:

Note; It's in English :-)

All my pictures on computer got onto scandisk. Can you erase the whole folder or just picture by picture?

You can erase the whole folder. Just remember that you may have to recreate the folder when you next copy pictures onto the Fuze.

Enable to download photos to scandisk from home pc.

You need to use the supplied Sansa Media Converter program to convert photos (and videos) to a form the Sansa can handle. If you've misplaced the program, you can download it from

Synchronize to continue your music subscription

first you must format the player using msc mode then after that retransfer the songs to the player. If you are receiving this message it means that the songs on the player have expired. This is normal if you download the songs off rhapsody, napster or any online music stores and if you have ripped songs iwht copy protect music on it if you ripped them using windows media player 10.
