Hi! I had the same problem, it turns out that the TV Tuner cannot pick up a good signal, so you may want to purchase an areial booster. I done this and it stopped the flashing.

this has happened to many of these tvs, I would return it if you can, this isn't worth it to get fixed. I'm sorry if you can't return it, yours lasted less than many I have heard of

USED SCREEN

you can buy the screen from a tv company repairs and service place. or you can find a dead tv. all the screens on projector tv's are made from the same stuff. what you have to decide is if you want glass or perspex. you can even make your own screen if you wanted a large sheet of perspex and a plastic coating off one way light sheet. the sheets can cost a bit though. most company's just throw away the screens. so you may be luck if you find one in the skip. you can find a 56inch etc just cut it to size of yours.

Hi! where can i purchase a 12 volt trigger cable for a motorized screen

Hello,
Most projectors have a 1/8 inch (mono) or tip and sleeve female connector for screen trigger and output 12volts dc when the projector is powered up. So if the Optima screen has the optional trig in and it's 12 volts the cable is very easy to put together. Optima may have a cable available or you could spend just a few bucks at Radio Shack and your all set.

Optoma RD-50 DLP has dark vertical shadow on right side of screen

turning off the main can be very harmful to rear projectors if you dont wait for the cooling off period, for instance when you turn off the tv from the remote, the fans inside are still on in order to dissipate the heat given out by the lamp. as a result some of the lens inside the engine may have burns-in caused by excess of heat.thus leading to shadows on the screen.

hope this helps
