Question about Philips 50P8341 50" Rear Projection Television
i say you response in tv-forums about the problem with the coolant in a 50p8341 and you mentioned that you had parts for all the phillips tv
i am having a problem with my tv when i turn it on the tv buttons on the front turn red but the screen does not get power all i get is a green line going across the tv no sound me and my dad opened the tv he has some experience with tvs as he studied for electrician but that was long time ago so he is not sure of the solution we think it might be the flyback because he says that when you turn on the tv and you put a screwdriver close to the flyback cables you are suposed to get a spark because of the high voltage going trough the cables but we get no spark so i will like to know if you could give us a hand with this by telling us if you think that might be the problem and if you have the flyback for this tv
Thanks you very much for your time
The green line across the TV if its in the middle is usually loss of vertical deflection so that can shut the tubes down for protective purposes. Check the vertical output IC thats what is most likely causing the problem. The flyback is working if theres a green line across the middle of the screen.
