Testing broiler element

The resistance values of these elements vary between manufacturers. A resistance reading in the thousands of ohms or kilo-ohms is considered normal. If the reading reads infinite, the element is considered open and requires replacement. Additionally, a resistance check from one terminal to the outer shell of the element should be done to ensure it is not grounded. If the reading shows a short ( 0 ohms), replace the element.
