The resistance values of these elements vary between manufacturers. A resistance reading in the thousands of ohms or kilo-ohms is considered normal. If the reading reads infinite, the element is considered open and requires replacement. Additionally, a resistance check from one terminal to the outer shell of the element should be done to ensure it is not grounded. If the reading shows a short ( 0 ohms), replace the element. I hope this helps answer your question.

Frigidaire FEF366ASE - when i push broiler button no green light and element does not heat up. Everything else works. The broiler element looks in perfect condition and has not been used much.

Good Morning David, thank you for your post!
From the information you have provided the broiler feature is not working on your Frigidaire range, FEF366ASE. Even though the element appears to intact it is possible that it may have lost continuity inside of it. In order to check you would need to remove the element and test it. A professional technician would have the appropriate tools needed to test the element. I hope this information is helpful to some degree. -Matt

Upper oven will not heat up, broiler does not work.

Hi Larry
Use a multimeter on AC range to test for voltage on wires going to bad element.
It's probably a bad switch or open element.
Elements often unplug for replacement. Don't always show damage of burned out conductor. So... Use your multimeter on the ohms scale to test for continuity at each end.
Upper oven element is likely open circuit and will need to be replaced.

Broiler on oven not working

Remove the broiler element and check it for continuity with a multi-meter. If it fails the test, replace the element with this part.
If the element test good, you need to replace the control board. Here is that part to order.

Last week when my wife turned on the oven a flash and popping noise happened and the circuit breaker popped. I ordered a new control board part number WB27T10229 and installed it. When I turn the circuit...

The broiler is a different element. Sounds like your main (bottom) element is out. Turn off breaker and remove. To test, use an ohm meter and ohm out the element. If yuor meter reads 0 or OL (open load) your element needs to be replaced.

GE XL44 Oven and stovetop work - broiler does not work

The broiler is the top element in the oven. Look at it. Bad ones sometimes have burnt into or have a melted spot. If it looks ok take it out by removing the screws at the back and pull the wires out a little and unplug the element. With an ohm meter it should show continuity. Replace it if any of these things apply.

You'll likely need a new EOC. You probably have a bad broil relay on the board. Pretty easy to change yourself.
