Question about Philips 37PF7320A 37 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

Philips 37PF7320A/37 Doent stay powered on...red lite blinks three times, pauses, then repeats itself

My philips 37 inch LCD (roughly two years old) TV will not stay powered on. When powered up, the TV dies with the red lite blinking three times, pauses, then repeats the three red lite blinking sequence. The only "authorized Philips dealer" in the D.C. area tells me the signal board need to be replaced at a cost of $520. This excludes the $200 labor charge. Is this a ripp-off and what other options do I have?

Excuse me...I hit the wrong button....the weblinks dont get me to the Philips parts list and according to the Philips Repair shop these part #'s are not correct. At this point I am not sure what to do given the $520 + $200 cost to R/R the signal board is approx. half the value of a new unit. Do I scrap the unit and start over or do we wait for the design bugs to get worked out of LCD-type TV's?

How can you say this is Inappropriate... You have some one who is trying to rip you off on a part and I give you the information to see how much the part is and you kill my rating by giving me an Inappropriate. All I want to do is help you out so that way you know how much the part really cost.

I looked that part up for you and it is not $520 but it is over $400 and what the repair shop is trying to rip you off for is not worth it.

Use your warranty in a hurry before it expires. Your TV when into protection mode to prevent further damage. Most TVs have a 1 year warranty. Good Luck.

That blinking led is an error code for the audio standby board in the set. It should not go out this soon and yes it should last longer.

If your TV is less then a year old, i would suggest to call the vendor or manufacturer to have the LCD repair under warranty. Most electronics devices carry one year warranty.
The failure of your LCD is not related to any fuse since you're still getting some lights from it.
Good Luck.
