Question about Car Speakers & Subwoofers

1 Answer

Have just installed sony cd radio in puegeot 206.All works great, but when ignition turned off, unit looses its memory, looks like its not getting constant 12v.how do i overcome this.Somebody suggested that check position of fuse 24,and move it to second position.Tried with exactly same result.Removing fuse 24 stops power to unit when ignition is turned on,so seems that fuse 24 is linked to audio wiring.Any Help?

The vehicle has a constant power source that needs to be connected to the radio. If a fuse has disconected the circuit then you will lose your "memory" for your radio. Look in the owners manual for the fuse box locations. Use a light to find the fuse that has disconnected the circuit.

There are two battery feeds to the radio

1...The main one that connects the battery supply via the Ignition Switch

2...A permanently connected battery that maintains the Code Memory and Tuning Settings Memory.

It looks as though the (2 ) is missing

Usual problem is a blown fuse or loose connector at rear of radio.

Can be tested using a Multi-Meter or Test Lamp

Turn the engine off and cd starts from the start

I work at a stereo shop in Cali and it's can be some thing verry easey check your radio memory fuse. this can be found under your dash or under your hood. check all your fuse, it mite not be lable Radio, try acc, dash light, opt. these will be your best bet. Is your radio a factory unit or after market? If after market check to see if your unit haves a fuse in line on the Yellow wire. I hope this help please let my know if you need more help.

Radio not playing

it sounds like you didn't hook up both your power wires on your cd player. there is a red and yellow power wire. one is constant power to keep memory and the other turns on the radio when the key is turned. check to see if both are hooked up
