Was Mowing in a area the Electric Co had done some tree work. I hit a stick of wood about 7 inches long and 3 inches thick. It stopped the tractor cold!!!!! I was able to extract the wood OK The blade was bent --I changed it. The Belts, deck & tractor are all O.K. But the Tractor does Nadda, Zero, Zip when I turn the key. It's like it's disconnected. Not a sound, a dead zone. I checked the battery it's OK --- Put it on a charge Still NOTHING! I tapped the starter ---- NOTHING! Looked for loose wires, Nothing. Is there a fuse that might have blown Tractor: 1993, Sears 18 HP. Craftsman. Extra size rear Axel. I would appreciate any and all help you can extend. Thanks: Bill Donlon

I would also check the fly wheel key It could have sheared off You will need to fix this first before going ahead and finding out your other problems But it sounds to me like you have a broken wire somewhere on the starter circuit

Linear inches of a piece of luggage 14"x 19"x 9"

First you need a standard to go by. Example is a wood board. It is 3/4 inch thick, 3 inches wide and 8 foot long. Linear foot is the length, not the width or the depth. Inches would be 96 linear inches. So to unfold you luggage, it would be 76 inches. This is the total outside area. In you case the width would apply, depth has no relevance.

I was mowing in thick grass and my ride on mower stopped. If I try to restart I can hear and feel the motor trying but it just wont get going.

You probably hit something unseen. First check under you deck to be sure a stick or something isnt wedged in there. Check your belt and pulleys on top of the deck.
Im tempted to say check the flywheel key or adjust the valve lash.

Mandrel on right side has broken 3 times have only done 7.3 hours

It sounds like your blade is hitting the ground when you are mowing. If you have high spots in your yard the blade will cut into the ground and the mounts on the mandrel will break. Make sure the mower rake adjustment is set correctly, the mower blade should be level or a maximum of 1/4 inch lower in the front. This adjustment is done with the adjuster bolt that runs from the front of the mower to the frame under the muffler, it may have one or two rods connecting the mower at this point. Also make sure the wheels are set down far enough so they can prevent the deck from scalping, they have five different mount holes,if they are up in the highest they will not do anything.Unfortunately these mower mandrels will not take a lot of punishment and they can break when the blades contact anything like dirt or tree roots. Your ultimate action may be just to mow the grass a little higher to keep from scalping. Hope this helps.

Replacing front fender

My son went around a curve one night and hit a tree stump that was in the middle of the road. It put the front bumper under the truck, busted the radiator, the framing brace that supported the radiator and the A/C condenser. There was even wood in the frame from the impact. He also needed to replace a fender from a previous accident. After getting everything installed on the engine, they had a problem putting the fenders back on.

The passenger's side fender fit perfectly except where the hood was hitting in one spot. The fender was about 2 to 3 inches too high and the guys were threatening to take a hammer and beat it down. But after getting a stronger light and searching the frame of the truck from all angles, they found out there was still one bolt that needed to be removed. Once it was removed, the fender went on smoothly. They didn't get to use the hammer like they were threatening!
