Most newer Canons have a max shut off time of 4 hours. It is there so they are energy savers. It may be turned off in service mode under options.

Aficio 1027 only print first couple of pages

Could be several things. I would start by eliminating the easiest things. Try another cable, decrease dpi settings (less memory usage), try a USB cable to see if theres a difference if a port is available. Update the print driver from Ricoh website.

Kyocera FS 1128mfp error code CF248 - what does this mean?

corrupt print data.
set the driver back to KPDL, make sure to uncheck the "allow data pass through" in the settings area, this makes a world of difference and ends up eliminating alot of print errors. It's been talked about in other threads on this site. I've talked to KM tech support about this setting and they don't really know what it is for

Can the printer print with just a black ink cartridge?

The KODAK All-in-One Printer uses an advanced built-in printhead. The system is designed to provide excellent image and text quality, while eliminating the need to purchase new printheads every time you replace ink cartridges, and saving you money. The printing system requires that both the black and color ink cartridges be installed to print. If either cartridge is not installed or is out of ink, the printer or printhead will not print correctly.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

We changed our telephone package last week, eliminating the dedicated fax line to one multi-ring line. The faxes aren't coming through now. Any suggestions?

You will have to set the Multi-ring pattern in the Printer Fax Setup to distinguish between the phone ring and fax ring

Press Setup button
Scroll to Advanced fax setup ( Press OK )
Choose Distinctive Ring Pattern ( DRP )
Set the multi-ring you have been assigned for Fax
Press OK -
Try dialing the no., the Fax should ring
Try sending Fax or Recieving, it should work.

Also, Turn off the ECM
under SETUP - FAX Settings - ECM ( Error correction mode ) - Turn it OFF

My HP Office jet J5780 All-in-one will not send my faxes. 3 days ago it was fine, but not now . It starts to send but then it doesn''t complete. one time it said --no computer hookup and the other times it...

Try eliminating the PC by sending from the Glass ( printer ).Make sure you have a dail tone,if speaker on available use it or connect another phone to make sure. Also see if you can enter FAX SET UP in MENU reset to factory defaults.Good Luck.

Epsom=R300 Ink problem

Those cleaning cartridges do work and it will help in eliminating any question that it is a clean problem with the print carriage and so on. You may be able to shake those cartridges because it is a fine powder inside instead of conventional ink. That may help you as well. It is apparent though that your printer is mechanically sound and just needs some TLC. good luck.

PCI (payment card industry) certification for 3200

In some instances PCI Compliance is reliant on the processing company you are using and their technology capabilities or limitations. I work for a different processing company and have some current clients that will continue to use their 3200 into the future.

We have no intention of eliminating our support of these terminals and our technology allows them to be PCI Compliant. Our support of the terminal is in-person and Local, in addition to live 24/7 customer support on our 1-800 Help Desk line.

Feel free to send me an email at if you are interested in learning more.

If this is a Xerox 128, I have looked through all the documentation and those are non standard fault codes.
I would first start by seeing if the scanner was comming on and moving correctly.
The only other thing you can try is to remove all the covers and disconnect and reconnect plugs, and ribbon cables.
There is nothing in the documentation or engineering notes to reference any of those error codes.
Not even eliminating the P and just looking up the individual codes as just numerical codes.
A non functioning scanner will produce many odd codes not listed in documentation, which is why I am having you start there. Reseating connectors will allow all modules to communicate, which can also produce odd codes.

On a Dell3100cn changing the paper setting to covers2 helps.

Here is how I understand the problem:

The heating element does not always get hot enough and the toner gets smeared before is is fixed (in the photographic sense). Changing the paper type to covers2 increase the temp of the heating element eliminating the smearing.
