It is not advised that you leave the shaver charging after it has fully charged.

Where do I oil my Braun 4700 series shaver ? On the foil, the cutting block or where the cutting block plugs into the base area? Thank you.

With the shaver fully assembled, apply one drop to each of the two foils. Turn the shaver on and run for 5 seconds to spread the oil accross the foils

Braun shaver oil can be purchased from shaveroutlet.com. See link below

Norelco 4805 xl razor won't turn on when plugged in nor will the battery charge. i would think it was the battery but it does't want to turn on when plugged in either. is the motor shot? thanks

When the battery goes completely bad, the shaver will not work even from the cord.
You will need to open the shaver and make sure that the batteries have not corroded badly and damaged the inside of the shaver.

You will find the correct replacement battery offered at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

Jet Clean System not working on my Norleco Arcitec. It Flaashes Red and Blue and ejects the razor.

I had this same issue with my shaver and tried the method suggested without any affect. I then looked at the underside of the razor cradle and discovered two philips screws. I removed them and and a plastic cover comes off to expose the fluid sensor. The sensor has two wires leading into a molded assembly. I noticed that mine had a couple of cracks and one caused a piece of the material to fall off. I could now see a piece of metal underneath. I cleaned the sensor with water to remove all cleaning solution and then dried it with a hair dryer. I searched for something to seal the sensor and found some touchup paint for my car. I used it to paint and seal the visible surface of the molded sensor. I re-assembled the unit and let it dry. Everything worked fine after that.

It is taking a charge but won't turn on it seems to be in slow motion and when you take it off the charger it wont turn on at all

Sorry... but your battery internal to your shaver is bad. Probably cheaper to get a new shaver unless your shaver is under a factory warranty.

Won't charge

Batteries are old and probably dead. You will find the correct battery type for model 7864XL at shaveroutlet.com. See link below.

To replace, you will need to remove the back cover by removing the two screws. You may need to extend the long hair trimmer to get to the second screw. Take off back cover to access inside. There are two metal clips that must be unhooked for better access. You can unsolder the batteries from the circuit board but for easier replacement, it is sometimes suggested that you use a modified installation technique. This is to break the tabs off of the old batteries with small needle nose pliers rather than unsoldering them from the circuit board. This allows the old batteries to be removed but leaves the tabs attached to the circuit board. You can then solder the tabs from the new batteries to the old existing tabs

If you are not able to do this yourself, you can have shaveroutlet.com do it for you. See link below

After charging razor will not turn on no power how to open razor to replace battery if that is the problem

Most likely, the battery just needs to be changed. Open the shaver by removing the two screws near the bottom on the back of the shaver.<br /> You will find the correct battery at shaveroutlet.com. I HAD PURCHASED A HQ8140 SHAVER 1 YEAR 9 MONTHS

This problem can be caused by a malfunctioning printed circuit board inside the shaver. This usually can be fixed by fully discharging the battery then fully charging it or disconnecting the battery then reconnecting it (if possible, most shavers has their batteries soldered-in).
