Ooks like you have a defective CCD , try resetting camera to factory first.

washed out pictures as if massively overexposed, are not a setting problem.

You can reset settings to factory, but the problem is either defective lens, or most commonly a defective CCD sensor.

The camera must be fixed at a repair shop to fix this.

PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY LINES APPEAR ON VIEWING SCREEN AND ALSO ON SAVED PHOTOS. MANY THANKS. IS IT POSSIBLE THAT I MIGHT HAVE PRESSED A WRONG BUTTON?

Lines appear on your photo's because the shutter is either stuck or is not firing completely over the lens when you take a shot. You will either get overexposed pictures (white out) or these lines like it is taken through a blind.
The most common cause for this is moisture residue building up on the shutter leafs over a period of time.
An easy way to verify this is to use the video function. It should be perfectly fine as this function does not use the shutter. This will also eliminate the sensor as the cause of the problem.

Hi, I seem to have a problem with my Finepix Z1 digital camera. When I take a shot it seems to work ok, and the initial review image seems fine as well. But when I go back and review the image on the...

The clue is with the video.
The video function does not use the shutter. Lines on photo's or over exposure is due to the shutter not closing completely over the lens when you take a picture.
It will require cleaning which means opening up your camera and accessing the lens unit

Try the video. Is it ok?
Adjust the zoom so the internal lens is up close to the outside lens. Now, look into the lens at an angle so you can see into the lens without reflection. With the flash "off" so as not to blind you take a picture and watch the shutter close over the lens. Did it cover the lens? If not then something is obstructing it or there is an electrical failure with the electro magnetic switch operating the shutter.

Help me i have lines on my pictures and i dont know what to do!!!

Your shutter is not closing correctly. only solution is to strip it down and clean the shutter. The lines are due to over exposure. pictures in daylight will appear too bright. The video function should work ok as it does not use the shutter.

Lines across my photos

Nothing to do with any chips being faulty.
The clue is in the video....
The video function does not use the shutter.
The shutter has become fouled.
Unfortunately this is a major strip down to clean the shutter

Cannot copy from finepix s6500 to my computer

Are you using a USB card reader. If not you should get one.
It's quicker than using cable to transfer files, and they are getting cheaper. Just make sure you get one that reads XD cards.
