Question about GE Nautilus 24" Built-in Dishwasher
The dishwasher can be closed, and the dial can be turned, but when i turn the dial nothing happens, the motor doesnt even attempt to turn. The soap tray opens up when the dial is turned past that point in the cycle, but nothing else. I checked, and it is wired directly to electricity; so its not unplugged. Any thoughts for what i can do to fix it?
Check the two switches under the inside cover of the door. there are two switches under the flimsy metal switch actuator, one switch has a black wire in both ends the other switch should have two white or white/red strip wires on one end and one white or white/red wire on the other end. the black wire is power the white wire is your neutral. both switches should have a button in the middle that is pushed in by the flimsy metal switch actuator when you lock the door shut. i had to replace the switch for my neutral when mine quit working. you can remove this switch and get the part number off of it. you can look it up on line or call a small appliance repair store to see if they have the part or can order it for you. remember to unplug the dishwasher before you remove the the inside cover of the door. hope this helps. I removed the inside door cover. There is a little metal plate that serves as a switch actuator. It presses the two push-button switches that are near the top by the latch. My plate had broken loose from its plastic anchor point and was laying near the bottom of the door. I reattached it with a piece of duct tape and voila, a working dishwasher! The whole process took 5 minutes and requires one large head phillips screwdriver and 2 small pieces of duct tape.

My problem was that the flimsy metal switch activator was loose in its housing in the inner door, and so wasn't depressing the two switch buttons. I've secured it with caulking adhesive, and it works now but this is a short term solution and I may have to buy a new inner door soon.
