Central locking does not work even when key is used in door. red light flashes fast on central locking button on dash. car will not start but engine turns over. economy mode shows on display
Check the fob battery because if the battery has gone then you can't immobilise the car immobiliser which in turn doesn't let you start the engine however it cranking. open the bonnet and remove the clips of car battery for a good 15-20 minutes and put them back and check your remote key and try to start your car. If nothing happens then let your car diagnosed by a experienced mechanic who is able to read out the ecu codes.

I am hoping that you will be able to give me some technical advice on a problem I am having with my 308 (2009) 1.6HDi.When I lock my car with the fob it locks O.K. but if I return to the car after about 10 mins it will not open using the fob. I have to enter the car with the key , turn on the ignition , and all the other doors then open. The clock is also flashing and has to be reset. If I return to the car before the 10 minutes the fob activates the central locking as it should.
I have also noticed that the mpg/speed electronic display is very erratic and inaccurate.
This problem seemed to arise just after a fault with the rear light cluster earth was replaced.I have rebooted the BSI and the key but the problem persists. It seems that something is going to sleep but is wakening up with a different setting.
