Question about Lands Phones

1 Answer

I have Siemens C1 Gigaset (anserwing machine plus one additional handset with charger which is plugged into an extension socket). I would like to get 2 additional handsets with chargers for other parts of my house but where there is no telephone sockets. It seems the C1 has been discontinued. Would any other DECT additional handset be compatible or is there a specific Siemens one I would need...or is it not possible?

It should take any GAP compatible handset. Just follow the instructions in your seimens user guide to connect it.

Siemens Gigaset 4200 Cordless keep searching for base

The handset should be returned to the charging station, let it set for a few seconds. If this is a satellite phone, make sure the main phone "base unit" is connected to phone outlet and plugged in. After the phone has established its physical connection with the base again you can remove it and use it like normal.

Handset won't work

I went through this exercise with a Siemens Gigaset 8800. The solution is to DE-register the handset first. Then register it with your base. This function can likely be accessed in the handset menu. The phone you purchased is apparently still registered to the previous user's base.

Problem Siemens Gigaset 4000 and 4200

If you had a storm, and the only handset that works shows line in use, then your base has gone bad and needs repair. The reason the phones are flashing base 1 or something to that effect is because they don't see the base anymore, which typically means no phones will see your base, so its odd that one phone is actually seeing the base. Either way, you can try re-registering the phones to the base, but if you get the line in use after they register (if they will register), then your base is bad. If they won't register, your base is bad. For additional assistance you can go to
