Yes the auto defrost drain water should run into a drain tube and out into a pan under the refrig where it just evaporates. You have a clogged drain and will need to look for it. Move your refrig out from the wall and you should be able to see the drain hose and get it cleaned out.Hope you find this helpful.

Does the Maytag Model: MSD2651KES have a drip pan underneath?

The Maytag Model MSD2651KES is a side-by-side refrigerator. It does not have a traditional drip pan underneath like some other refrigerator models. Instead, it uses a drain system to collect and channel condensation and defrost water.
The condensation and defrost water from the freezer section of the refrigerator typically flow down through a drain hole and into a drain pan or trough located at the bottom of the refrigerator. This drain pan is usually not accessible from the outside and does not require regular maintenance or emptying.
If you are experiencing any issues with water leakage or pooling around your Maytag refrigerator, it is recommended to check the drain system for any blockages or clogs. Ensure that the drain hole is clear and that the water can flow freely through the system. If you suspect a problem with the drain system, it is advisable to consult the refrigerator's user manual or contact Maytag customer support for specific guidance on troubleshooting and resolving the issue.

Why is water coming out under the refrigerator?

Maybe the freezer defrost drain is blocked. Sometimes the water freezes in the drain and the next time the defrost cycle occurs the water can't drain correctly. Is there any water inside the refrigerated section of the unit? Also there may be a catch pan under the fridge that is misaligned or out of place or the drain line isn't positioned to place the defrost water into the pan. Most modern refrigerators are frost free and defrost the freezer on a regular timed cycle. This is why your ice cubes shrink and stick together and why you get freezer burn on the food left in them for extended time.

Water leaks into the refigerator compartment. The refigerator is about 15-20 yrs old.

The drain in the freezer behind back lower panel
needs opening. You can see it at the bottom of the back panel
underneath the evaporator coils. (The cold coils)
Run Hot water in the drain until it clears or use a hairdryer.
When the defrost melts the water it goes down the drain
If the drain is clogged with Ice or ? The defrost water
overflows into the ref. or freezer or on floor
Run Hot water in the drain until it clears or use a hairdryer.
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath

Ice at the buttom of the frizer

There is excess ice build up due to a clogged drain in the freezer. You need to defrost your refrigerator for about 3 hours by unplugging it. If thats not an option empty the freezer locate the drain after removing ice and blow dry the drain hole. Also for your info the water in the fridge is the drain off thats supposed to be drained when the refrigerator defrosts every 4 hours or so. Also the excess ice is caused by the same thing.
Let me know if you need further assistance

Michael Scott

Ice at the bottom of the freezer

bottom of rezzer compartment is supposed to be frozen( depending on timeof cycle) i wouldnt point to a defrost problem unitil the ice build up is hindering refigeration, its quite possible that thte defrost drain has just frozen itself over, and needs to be cleared to allow defrost water to go into the drip pan under unit
