Question about HP PSC 1210 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Hp psc 1210 vista issue: properties

When I want to print a word document and want to save inkt or change it to grayscale of black/white for example, I changed properties on windows XP to fast (you know, the choice between fast, normal and best printing).

The problem is: with widows vista I can't access the menu 'properties'!
With office 2007, I want to print a .doc file, I click 'print' in the menu, then press 'properties', it shows the submenu, but it disappears after not even 1 second! (It's where you can also choose to print in grayscale, black/white, change printing quality etc)

Can anybody help? It's VERY annoying
Tnx in advance!

bad luck, went to HP site, to my all-in-one 1210 adn then selected vista, but the drier detection tool told me that I have the latest drivers installed -_-

I can't download and install the vista driver that is in the list, it's just a manual to check if basic functions work or not.

Do you know a link where I can donwload vista drivers then instead? Grtz

Autocad 2000 tells me the printer driver for my psc1210 in Vista is incorrect and won't allow me to print to my system printer which does work.

I'll be blunt because i have not found a solution for this... Vista has many compatibility problems, which makes it bagfull of shite to own, along with no decent help with the HP site... a case where each, in the words of AVGN, is a **** load of ****.

can I download my psc 1210 CD into vista 64 bit new computer. Will this solve the fact that vista does not support my 3 year, 11 month psc 1210? It is rotten of microsoft and HP that that vista home premium, 64 bit computer will not support this psc.

Have you got the Vista driver installed.?
Vista has many driver problems and manufactuers are not addressing them

Go to HP site for a Vista driver download,
or go to www, and put this problem there

    Here is anopther way.
You siad save it as an image[Grey scale]
    OK Do this.
Do you have an image editor loaded?
If not - Go to Start Programs/ Accessories /Paint
Open it then sent it to the taskbar
    Now open the document.
When on screen click CTRL ans Print SCR to gether
Now now bring Paint[or you image editor] to desk top and click on Edit then paste as new image.
There you go the Doc screen is there as an image- you can then dsitiedto Grey Scale or black and white
Crop off the surrounding unwanted stuff and save it as BMP or JPEF or anyother format you wish.
Then try to print from there or downlaod Irfanview or Picassa.

Hp printer 7450 won't print colored text from a word document. test page shows colors on the windows logo flag. changed the ink cartridge....color one that help i will try to print something else...

It may be set for grayscale (black and white) in the print properties. Go into the print properties in Word and look for a color or black and white setting, either under Color Management or Advanced. Set it for color, and then print your color document.

How to print pdf file in black and white. I went to print --> properties. but there is not options. I am using adobe reader 9.

There should be an option to print grayscale in properties, but if it's a color PDF it could be locked so that you can't change the properties, look for the lock symbol in the top bar when the pdf is open.

Internal test page fine, external prints black in blue

before you print, you have to check your options.

For example, if you want to print black and white, when you select PRINT from the menu, you click on PROPERTIES to the right side or bottom side, depending on which windows you use, then select grayscale/black and white, etc in the options that will follow to correctly use your ink, you can always REMOVE the ink from your printer as you only want to print black and white or non color pages.

I hope this helps you.

Can't install to Vista HP PSC 1210

Use Paint.
It's not ideal, but I can scan with my HP PSC 1205 running Vista when I use Paint. Just click 'file' then 'from Scanner or Camera'.
Works a treat.
