Question about Dryers
Whirlpool ler7646eq2 dryer
simply stopped working .....have checked 3 fuses(sensors) in back and they all are closed circuits.
Door switch turns on light properly and when cycled to "closed" position i hear a distinct click when operating the the start button......but nothing else.
SOURCE: Dryer won't start
all dryers use an interlock switch which when u close the door it opens the circuit for the power try banging on the front off the dryer it may start if it does then you have a lose connection to the interlock u need to get the lid of to get to the interlock switch if it doesnt start then u have a mains filter which is next to your motor about 4in in length cyclinder with at the most 4 wires going to it possible 2 wires this will having lettering and numbers on it this needs replacing its on the inside at the bottom of the casing ,8

I have a whirpool heavy duty dryer that is not working. When I push the button to start the dryer it only roars, and the drum will not move.

Sorry, no reset you can get to. There is one embedded in the main motor itself, that if the motor draws too much current, and/or gets too hot.
If you shut the machine off for a 24 hour period, then it will many times appear to run normally again, but it's the motor getting weak.
It's usually a slow progressive problem, and if you choose, you can, at least for the short period use the machine by either lightening the loads, or spread the loads over a longer period of time.
Eventually the motor will need to be replaced.
