I just purchased a 2004 Lowe pontoon boat with a Clarion radio that
includes Sirius radio. I keep getting a "invalid Channel" message. Can someone help!

Yes, the radio has to be activated; if it is activated, not all channels are available for your use (requires Premium package) or the channel is simply not used at all. Thier website lists which channels you get whether you have an XM radio, a Sirius radio, or a "SXM" radio with the XTRA channels (or online).

1) Do you have a Sirius account?

2) Have you called Sirius and given the serial number of that receiver?

Those are the first two things you have to do to get a Sirius receiver working. (The original owner could have changed his account to use his new receiver, if he has one.) Go to http://www.sirius.com/install - the "activate" part - for details.

Can my sirius sportster 2 won't receive channel 210

Yep, new radio. The old Sirius radios won't go above 184 (most won't even get above 145) and the old XM radios won't go past 256, so to get the "Xtra" channels you want a new XM radio like the Onyx PLUS, or The XM Edge - both will give you not only all the regular channels, but an eXtra 20 channels or so that you can only get online or on a new 2.0 radio. Let me know how it works out for you. Regards, Engineer Scott

Clarion Marine Problem w Sirius CeNet Unit

When a CD changer or Sirius satellite receiver is added to a system, the source unit’s main wiring harness must be disconnected before the changer and/or satellite receiver’s CeNET cable is connected to the source unit. Otherwise, the source unit will not “recognize” that a CD changer or Sirius satellite receiver has been added.

My sirius reciever in my boat worked fine until this year now it wont work antenna is only two years old and it is a high quality marine antenna could it be the reciever it is hooked to a clarion radio...

Oxidation from humidity could have tarnished a connector somewhere. Make sure all connectors are clean and shiny first. It could be that the receiver is bad. A stereo shop should be able to check that for you easily.

All of a sudden the display says invalid channel and 0% updating channels sirius says the radio must be broken

I would try a different antenna first, then exchange radio if that doesn't work. You will have to 'update' the radio for about 30 minutes after you first activate it, but after 30 minutes it should be fine. Try the activation channel (channel 1) - call Sirius for a 'refresh'. After 30 minutes, your undate should be done. Turn the radio off with the pushbutton on the radio. Turn it back on - should be no more updating. If so, then there is a problem.

Sirius radio does not keep last channel

Are you using the POWER button to turn it off, or just shutting off the car? Using the "power button" will usually help this situation.

Installation question ??

With the CNET you do mthis, CD Changer to the sirius input, srius output to the Clarion input. It's just a "daisy chain". I hope I understood you right, if not, you can yell at me :-).

Clarion SIRIUS Radio Receiver - Not Receiving All Subscribed Channels

My DX445 does the same thing. Here's my method for fixing it, it should work for any similar Clarion receiver:

1. If possible, make sure the radio is turned off when disconnecting the battery. If the radio turns itself on when the vehicle is restarted (for example after jump starting or battery disconnect for a few seconds only), turn the radio off.

2. Disconnect the battery by removing the negative battery cable from the battery. Leave it disconnected.

NOTE: Car batteries can be dangerous things. If you're unsure how to do this safely, get an experiences mechanic to help you.

3. Reset the radio. On my radio this is done by removing the faceplated, and pressing a tiny button for 30 seconds. Your radio may be different.

4. After waiting at least 20 minutes, reconnect the battery.

5. My radio displayes 'System Check -- Press Power'. After pressing the power button, the display reverts to the clock.

6. Turn on the radio. It should work fine on the broadcast bands.

7. Select 'Sirius'. The radio should display 'Updating'. Don't touch anything until the radio finishes its update phase. When it's done, it should tune to Sirius channel 1 and play as normal.

8. This should restore normal tuning. reset your presets and preferences.

What seems to happen is that the radio gets stuck in a 'Category Select' condition, but not all the categories will load, and manual tuning will not allow, say, Radio Classics to play when the radio is stuck in Pop mode.

On occasion (maybe 1 time out of 10), the radio hangs while doing the 'updating' in Sirius mode. If this happens, just shut off the radio and start over. I've never had to do the brute force reset more than twice since I stumbled on this method.
