If you haven't allocated enough hard disk space for System Restore, it can only roll back so far. If your problem is that you just don't have any earlier restore points available, there is no way of making them appear. (other than time-travel, but i'm still working on that!) =-]
If your problem is that you have a date you want to roll back to, but it fails while trying or something... then restart, and tap F8 as it reboots until you get a black screen with some menu options. Choose "safe mode".. let it boot up (it will look strange) then try the rollback again. Should be fine!
