Question about Compaq Presario Notebook
I've had my laptop now for about 1 year, all has been fine until a few months ago when it started to power down with no warning. Thinking its a heat problem, thought i would see if i could clean the fan, but cant get to the fan without what it would seem to be as breaking it. oh and how do i clean the keyboard?
Contact compaq and tell them your problem and you prob. can get it fixed for free due to an extended warrenty they are providing at no cost

If not, then the keyboard cable has probably come loose.
Look for some way to remove the keyboard. Sometimes a screw from underneath, sometimes two or three small catches at front of keyboard (small gaps in metal plate in front of space bar). Sometimes top plastic bar above keyboard slides sideways.
Keyboard cable uses goes into a header socket - to refit:
Switch off and remove battery and power first!
1. Prise up each end of the socket with a blunt knife - the outer part of the socket should move up a few mm
2. Push keyboard cable down fully
3. Push down each end of the header socket so it is flush with the lower part of the socket.
4. Test keyboard
