Question about Car Audio & Video Accessories

Engine light on

Ive got a vauxhall astra 1.8 sri 02 reg. An orange light appears every time i turn on the ignition, loss of power sometimes. It cost me hundreds of pounds the last time i took it to a dealer. Can i solve problem myself?

Hi mate you wont be able to sort it your self but cheaper than a main dealer would be a mobile diagnostics test round about 30/40 quid if its the engine managenent light it could be on for lots of reasons but you be better off getting it diagnosed from a mobile guy or a local garage i wouldnt go to the main dealers they charge to much for the same service

Hello! In the under-hood fuse box check fuse # 36 (7.5A)...I hate guessing...And I'm guessing on the Year of your Astra as a 2008...If I'm wrong let me know...But that fuse powers up the Driver Information Center...Send a comment...guru...saailer

radio code on car pass. car pass should be in the documen wallet, replacment avialable £25 from local vauxhall dealer.

My vauxhall stereo is stuck on safe mode how do i unblock it i have lost the code


1. turn ignition on (dash warning lights on)
2. If radio turned on, turn it off.
3. Press AS button in, and hold it in while turning radio on.
4. Wait approx 10 seconds (do not release AS button).
5. Radio should beep, and display should now read 10 - - - - (assuming no tries have been made in the past with the wrong code)
6. use pre-set button "1" to scroll the first digit in the display to the number you want (it goes 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 then back to 0)
7. Use pre-set "2" for second digit, etc.
8. Once display reads 10 followed by the four digit security code press and hold AS button for about 10 seconds, until the radio beeps.
9. If correct code entered display will now read "code" briefly, followed by"memory-U" briefly, then radio will reprogram it self.
10. If radio goes back to "safe" the code number is incorrect, or you mis-keyed it.

Note: entering the code incorrectly 10 times will render the radio useless.
After the first 3 tries you need to leave the radio on and the ignition on for increasingly long periods of time before it will let you try again. 7 safe need you to wait at least 30 mins, and more like 1 hour.

WARNING - you only have a max of 10 attempts to get it right, but if still no luck after the 8th attempt, STOP and contact a Vaux dealer.

Hi with ignition off hold AS button keep it pressed turn ignition on with it pushed wait for a bit then code will appear to entre code you use number 1 to do first code number then number 2 to do second code number then 3 to do third then 4 to do forth then you have to press and the AS button untill the code goes in

I inserted a dvd in error and it wont play or eject.the car is Astra sri 1.9 CDti 150 Dec 2007


usually there is a hard eject you can preform, normally it is done by pressing and holding the eject and power buttons for a specified time usually 3-10 seconds
