Key wont turn in ignition. Dont want to hear the key is bent. Tried everything to get it to turn, but wont. It happened earlier today and after 20 minutes of giggling the key it finally turned over. How can i resolve this without buying a new key for $120

put key in ignition. tap the back of key towards ignition like youre trying to drive it in even further. not too hard but hard enough. it will turn, i promise. Marc.

The problem can only be one of three things. Steering column, ignition or key. When there is tension on the steering wheel it will prevent the key from turning. If the linkage in your ignition is bad it will prevent it from turning. If your key looks worn or marred (it doesn't always have to be bent) it wont turn.

Just put key in ignition and tap the back of key towards the ignition like youre trying to tap the key inside it even further. tap it with a hammer, screwdriver etc. it will turn, i promise,Marc.

Ingition key will not turn

I had this problem and the fix was some type of trigger in the ingnition module was bent or out of place. This trigger is only to make a bell ring when doors are open and the key is in the ignition. What happens is the key doesnt fully engage with this trigger bent in the ignition module, therefore it will not turn. I had a locksmith come fish the trigger out and everything worked fine, except the warning bells. I've learned to live without them.

I would take it to the dealer to check if the security system is programmed to accept the key which has a chip in it.

I must admit that this has never happened to me, either.

As I got out of the car i grabbed the wheel and it moved left and clicked. Now I cant get the key to turn in ignition and wheel is locked. What do I do?

move the steering wheel while turning the key in the ignition and it should come unlocked. This happens sometimes, its just on a bind. Like i said just turn the steering wheel left and right the little bit that you can and the key will be able to turn.

Camaro wont turn over

First, clean your battery cables with a wire brush so you know you have a good connection from your battery. If that doesn't do it, it's most likely your starter or selenoid.
