Viewsonic monitor not detected after service

Hi ,
My monitor is VG1930wm . It was repaired as it had gone dead a few days ago. Theservice person replaced some component and now the monitor has started.
The issue is that now
1. My monitor is not being automatically detected by Windows .
2. Even the driver installation fails and windows sets the monitor as default monitor .
3. My Intel 915 chipset driver refuses to go beyond 32bit colour display .
4. And the worst is that I cannot set the resolution to 1440x900 ! which is the only resolution that the monitor would work nicely .
5. If I uninstall all the drivers ( intel and viewsonic ) and restart I see 2 "Default Monitors" in Device Management .

I have already
1. Reinstalled all intel mother board drivers
2. Reinstalled viewsonic drivers but always get the message that the monitor is 'Not Detected'
3. Forcefully selected Viewsonic monitor driver during add new hardware
4. Disable both the "Default Monitors" and then restarted !

Please let me know if there is a correct sequence of reinstalling the drivers and making windows recognize the monitor .

Regards
Kunal

Hello,
If you are running DVI-D(the white connector) then it isn't getting a digital handshake. If you have inspected the connection between the 2 and make sure there is no bent pins inside the connector that it mates with. If you have another computer, try to connect to that one.
Open windows start menu, right click on my computer, then choose properties. Next choose Hardware, then Device manager. Once there, double click on display adapters to see if installed correctly. If good, click Monitors. If good, then your video card driver must need reinstall or update as usual. Also do you have the correct driver for you monitor? How does it react when you uninstall the monitor driver(can you select 32bit and higher resolution in default drivers?
If none of this works, I would suspect that the replaced component failed due to static or faulty components within the electronics.
Is there any other changes to the PC (new video card, updated Directx9.0?)

Hope this helps and let me know if I can be of anymore assistance?

My ViewSonic VG1930WM (Black) LCD Monitor wont turn on

You need to open it up and the first place to look will be the power supply, look for bad caps with bulging top, post back what you find so we can guide you further. See example of failed VIEWSONIC monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

You need to plug the 3.55mm audio cable on to the computer (usually the green line-in) and on to your monitor's audio line in. Hope this helps.6b3b672.jpg

Our viewsonic monitor tilts forward. how do we tilt it back?

Hello again.
The ViewSonic VG1930wm has a height adjustment range of 3.2", TILT capabilities, and a swivel range of 360 degrees.
So yes your monitor should be able to tilt back and forth.  Most likely if you hold the base of the monitor, and press somewhere on the front at the top or bottom (do not press on the screen itself) then it should easily tilt back and forth.  Occassionally there is a switch you may have to hold while you push on the front-top/bottom of the monitor which acts as a lock for the tilt angle.
Hope that helps, and don't forget to vote/rate!

VX922 monitor, blank screen, blinking power light

If there is a flashing led on front of the monitor, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the Monitor goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1 The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or a broken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the monitor will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occurr suddenly are a blown capacitor on power board, the inverter board powering up backlight lamp has blown, or a fault on main lcd controller board.
check also the video cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable.

Check connectors, try moving the video cable, and if the cable is not built in, then also try a replacement cable.

If under warranty contact Viewsonic to find out a Viewsonic service point.

I have a VG1930WM, Model VS11354, Serial # QC4065006466. I need to remove the base so that I can pack it in a case to carry on to the airplane. Is there a diagram on how to do this?

You need to refer to your owners manual, in there should be a section which gives you these instruction on how to attach and unattach your base.
