Power was interrupted during initial start up and now cannot get to load
Bought new laptop (actually Acer Aspire 5715Z) with pre-installed Vista. Instruction manual didn't say we had to wait 30 mins so we switched off to try again. Then saw a leaflet saying not to interrupt during initial start up! Now we cannot get it to load

Insert the supplied Recovery CD's that came with your new laptop, and let it boot from the CD's. This will prompt you along the way to completely wipe your disk and pretty much start over... which is what you were doing anyway. =-]

It is cause by a very serious virus called "Conflicker"
Try to Do a upgrade of 7 (Free upgrade from Microsoft).
The upgrade does not delete your files, it should detect and erase viruses and the startup is quicker. (22 secs on my Dell Inspiron 2200 with 512MB RAM!!!)
Currently, the only other solution is to do a complete re-install.
Since you cant start it using your recovery disk, you need to bring it to a service center because the are going to take out the hard drisk and connect it with other computer so they can do the restoration or reformating
