The air duct between fridge and freezer on many models is managed by a chip module controlled by a termic sensor that activates a fan.
If it is a fan system, check that the fan is starting.
If it is not working start defrosting the unit, by leaving it unplugged overnight. Often the problem is caused by ice.
If it still does not work you need to test and eventually replace one of the following parts:
termic sensor
fan motor
fan solenoid
main control module (on some models)
If you cannot fix it with defrost, unless you are an expert DIYer I suggest calling in a technician. You can find a service contact number printed inside fridge owner manual.

Many thanks

Hi,

Pls reference this page and look over the part number/description of the "air management door", might it be the "damper/cover"?

To my understanding, there is as you posted a servo controller termed "Damper Controller" that is responsible for the opening and closing. However, this damper controller takes its cues from the main controller/logic board that decides when to open or close based on its sensor readings. the wiring diagram might be of help.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Refrig side not cooling, freezer fine

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

You may have to open the door to let the dispenser thaw since it's in the door.

Side by side refrigerator

- Check your temperature setting.
- Check if no ice present in the evaporator, try the defrosting
- Check vents if air is present if no then check your blower if running or icing evaporator.
- Check your vents if not obstructed with stocks, or the unit is not overloaded with stocks.
- Check if compressor is running continues, if not then you need a qualified technician.
