Question about Car Audio & Video
Hi i was just wondering if you could tell me how to install my stereo in my 2001 holden commodore. I have been told i have to take the dash board off before i can do it.Can you help me???
Shouldn't need to take out *too* much. I've changed the stereo in my last two Commodores.
Usually, you'd unclip the shifter-surround, which then exposes more screws for the DIN units. Undo those, and take out the ash-tray if it's nearby... eventually you'll get to the DIN mounting-bracket and be able to unscrew and unplug the existing headunit. Wiring and crimping the new unit into the existing wiring loom is fiddly, but you can buy adapters from Strathfield Car Radio to convert most popular brands to Commodore's/Falcons/etc.
A full guide with pictures is a bit much for this response, but that's the general jist!

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
