One of three ways, usually;

1) Unplug the power, remove the battery, hold the power button on for a good 10 seconds. Plug the battery in and test.

2) Open the laptop up and locate the CMOS battery. It'll be a small lithium battery... similar to those in watches. Remove battery for 10 seconds, put it back in, and test.

3) Use a BIOS cracking utility... this might very well break your laptop completely, and I can't recommend any utility that will definitely work. This is a last resort. =-]

Toshiba C875-s7302 shuts off in about 45 minutes? I have replaced every thing and it still shuts off? Any thoughts?

Hi Vaughn, I'm not certain of this, because I am not really that Tech Savvy,lol. My answer comes from my knowing this certain computer"The Toshiba", my son had one and it did the exact same thing, he resolved the issue by adding an external small fan, because apparently his problem was that it was over heating. I do hope this helps in some way.Sherry

If you follow this steps guide you through the process of clearing the BIOS password.
  1. Turn off the computer.

How to reset passcode?

Password problems If you are locked out of your computer because you forgot the password, obtain PowerSuite 2009 or 2010, a utility disc that self-starts from your CD DVD drive when you start up the computer considering the CD DVD drive is your first boot selection. One option of the program is seeking Passwords whereby a search is performed and the passwords located. Once that happens, select the location you used for the lost password and clean it out and remove the CD, close down the system, and reboot. The Operating System will now start up without asking for a Password and you're on your way. Unless you need to use a password for security in your home or office, there is no practical need for one. Go to and look for PowerSuite.

The BIOS and Supervisor passwords cannot be removed or changed unless you know the existing password(s). If you forget your BIOS or Supervisor password, you will have to have the password removed by a Toshiba Authorized Service Provider.

Oh..that one is hard to do specially to novice. I would suggest not to do it. It would be hard for you to dismantle your laptop bit by bit and it is very risky. You might it end up damaging your laptop. Take it to a qualified technician to get it done. okay..:-)
