Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "HPSupport" or "Compaq Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Download and install the drivers.
Do you know for sure your speakers are working? Or is Windows saying there's no sound device? Does the Device Manager tree show any problems (! symbol) by sound hardware entries? Has the integrated sound been disabled in the BIOS settings?
Try downloading the sound drivers from the motherboard manufacturer's website and reinstall. This often solves the problem.
If the integrated sound has failed, install a PCI sound card if there is an open slot on the board. Or you can also purchase a USB external sound card and plug it into an open USB port, and you don't even need to open the computer. Just be sure to disable the integrated sound in the motherboard BIOS setup.
Thanks for using Fixya! Hope your computer is talking again soon.
do u mean what graphics driver or graphics card.. most motherboards have a built in graphics chip integrated into the motherboard. Many HP and Compaq PCs do not have an AGP or PCI Express (PCI-E) slot on the motherboard and therefore it's not posible to add a graphics card
just go to the website of your manufacture. mostly good companies provide even if u dont get just go to realtek site and from there you can download the driver. or atlast go in google search and just search for the driver by completely mentioning the model name, brand name or if ur computer is assembled the type the name of your motherboard.
