On the back of the camera is a button near the right hand side ogf the LCD screen - this is the self timer button. Use the control dial to set it for 12sec or 2sec.

1 Press the shutter button all the way.
A picture is taken.
The focus and exposure are locked when
the shutter button is pressed halfway.
• When Y12S is selected: First, the selftimer
lamp lights up for approximately 10
seconds, then it blinks for approximately 2
seconds and the picture is taken.
When Y2S is selected: The self-timer lamp
lights up for approximately 2 seconds, then
the picture is taken.
To cancel the activated self-timer, press the button again.

I cant figure out how to set the self timer on this camera

Hi,

If you press the left < button on the camera before you take a picture you will have the option to set the self-timer. The options that you can choose are: 1. Single shot; 2. Continuous shot; 3. Self-timer (10 sec) / Remote control; 4. Self-timer (2 sec); 5. Self-timer (10 sec): Continuous (2 - 10 shots).

Hope this helps!

Using self timer on my digital camera

1 In any Still mode, tap Settings to open the Settings
panel.
2 Tap Self-Timer/Burst repeatedly, until the desired
Self-timer icon appears at the bottom of the LCD:
10 seconds—A picture is taken after a 10-second
delay (so you have time to get into the scene).
2 seconds—A picture is taken after a 2-second
delay (for a steady, auto-shutter release on a
tripod).
2 shot—The first picture is taken after a 10-second
delay. A second picture is taken 8 seconds later.
3 Compose the scene. Press the Shutter button halfway, then completely down.
The camera takes the picture/pictures after the delay.

Self timer

There are two identical sized small buttons on the top. Push the one nearest the picture-taking button until it says self-timer. Push the picture-taking button. The display should show a countdown until the timer takes the picture.

Dimage Z3 self-timer

It is in the Drive mode, the options are single shot, continuous, bracket, and self timer. It is not very clear in the manual but it is on the 1st menu page, page 46. Navigate using the arrow button. The default is single shot. When you set the camera to self timer, after taking the shot, it will return to the previous mode, ie. single shot or continuous. If you always use the self timer, you can reprogram the flash mode button to set the drive mode without going to the menu, page 65 of the manual. If you do not have a manual, you can download here : http://ca.konicaminolta.com/support/manuals/digital_cameras/dimage-z/index.html
