Thank you very much. That indeed is quite a lot of dismantling work. But I would try opening the machine this weekend.

    Thank you once again.

Sorry to take so long getting back to you. 4E is a door latch error code. It means your door latch is not working. Double check the wiring to make sure you don't have any loose or broken connections. More than likely, you will have to replace the switch. This is not one of your standard error codes that you will find in any tech sheet. I have experienced this problem before. If you go to searspartsdirect.com and type in your model number, you can find a replacement listed under the "Cabinet Parts" heading as item number 41 (part number 8519323). HINT: If you order this as item number 19 (part number 8283288) it also includes the wire harness. I hope this helps you. If you require additional assistance, please let me know. Good luck to you.

Okay, the door switch is located near the 12 o'clock position with the door open. This is a push button switch that enables the dryer to run and turns the drum light out when the door closes. In order to get to it to replace it, follow these steps:

    1. First and foremost, UNPLUG the dryer. There are still live voltages present on many of the dryer components, even with the dryer turned off.

    2. Remove the dryer top panel by removing the three screws that hold the panel in place in the rear of the dryer. With the screws removed, the panel slides back, then off.

    3. Carefully remove the operator control panel. There may be a couple of screws holding it in place. Carefully disconnect the ribbon cable going to the panel and the lift the panel straight up. The whole unit slides out. NOTE: You may have to loosen the screws on the Main Control Board (mounted to the top left of the drum) in order to uninstall the operator control panel.

    4. With the operator control panel out of the way, now remove the lower panel under the door. This is accomplished by loosening the screws under the bottom edge of the panel. With the screws removed, the panel should drop down, then off.

    5. Open the dryer door and remove the lint screen. Close the door and reach inside the bottom of the dryer and disconnect the Auto Dry Sensor plug (yellow wire) and the ground wire mounted to the dryer frame (green).

    6. Remove the air blower cover. This is located directly under the door and covers the blower fan assembly. There will be a few screws holding it place. NOTE: If you forget to remove the lint screen, you will have difficulty getting the blower fan cover off.

    7. Remove the dryer front panel. There are four screws holding it in place (two at the top and two at the bottom). You only have to loosen the bottom screws. Do not take them out all the way.

    8. Open the dryer door and grasp the top portion of the door open. Lift straight up and turn the panel slightly counter-clock-wise. There are drum roller supports on the panel that support the front of the dryer drum. Turning the panel will allow the rollers to come free of the groove they ride in on the drum.

    9. The switch should be accessible at this point. Disconnect the wiring harness. The switch is usually held in place with a couple of retaining clips. The clips have release tabs that you push in on and then the switch should come out from the front of the panel.

    10. Reinstall components in the reverse order of how I instructed you to disassemble them.

HINT: You can remove the dryer door, if you like, to take some weight off the front panel. This can also safeguard the plastic window from getting scratched or broken. If you wish to remove it, support the weight of the door with one hand and loosen the screws holding the hinge to the door frame.

NOTE: Refer to the Sears website I referenced in my earlier posting. There very helpful drawings for each section that can also assist you in locating components and with how to disassemble.

I know it seems like a lot just to replace a switch, but this is the only way I know of to get the job done. If you experience any problems, let know. I hope this helps.

How to get the error code test on Frigidaire affinity model FARE1011MW

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand you are receiving an error code on your Frigidaire dryer, model# FARE1011MW. I see that when you press the start button, your dryer beeps and the drying light begins flashing. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Sometimes there can be a miscommunication between the different boards inside your appliance. Restore power and start any cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

4E problem on kenmore dryer

Same problem, no panel lights, nothing, but drum light works. Several postings on othe sites say the cuicuitry board is faulty. Sears, in the Phillippines, or India, do notheing. Paid lots for this dryer, live alone and really don't abuse it or even use it that much. Is the there a class action suit maybe? all I want is for it to work!

Kenmore Elite HE4 beeps three times when start panel is pressed and wont turn on

FWIW ... the Sears guy came by yesterday. The problem was apparently that the door latch was not operating to the extent that the sensors thought the door was open. He is replacing the latch next week. He adjusted the old one in the mean tiome and it appears to be working fine.

This kind of stunned me, since my wife reported an electric zap and the interior light burned out as the dryer went dead -- so I was sure it would be a fried circuit board -- but, no, a little jiggling of the latch seemed to clear it up....

My dryer keeps beeping after 30seconds of turning it on. I have pressed the 'LOCK' key to unlock & even then it still does the beeping thing! Could this be the motherboard packing up?

I had the same problem. My wife was about to take an axe to the darn thing. The frustrating thing was that it was beeping 3 times and the status lights were flashing. The manual only described 4 beeps (Dryer ran too long) or 6 beeps (Push button does not function). It finally dawned on me that it was beeping two sets of three beeps (i.e 6 beeps). The corrective action was to press buttons lightly and release. I pressed on every button first lightly then heavily with no success. I pounded on the instrument panel; still no luck. Finally I pressed the Options button and the Select button simultaneously for a second and heard a click. After that, no more beeping. According to the manual this activates a "LOCK' feature if you hold them down long enough. But in my case, the lock light flashed but didn't engage and after the beeping stopped, I left well enough alone.

Hope this helps.

Kenmore Elite Oasis Dryer 67086 beeps!

I have been experiencing the same constant beeping throughout the drying cycle with the loud and soft lights alternating. After reading every post I could find related to this issue. I removed the top console and found the hidden tech sheet. I ran the diagnostic mode and got error code F 2 which means there is a failure or interface mismatch, whatever that means. Well, when I read that folks have spent hundreds of dollars to replace the part and the problem returns and since the dryer functions perfectly fine except for the beeping, I just removed the beeper from the control board (twisted it off). Crossed my fingers and put everything back together. Turned on the dryer and bingo, beep is gone and dryer works fine. I know this isn't a proper fix, but Sears doesn't have one either. I had a Sears Tech to my house right before the warranty expired and she had no idea what to do and said the dryer was so new, they didn't have any specs. She didn't even remove the top to get the tech sheet and check any of the connections or run the diagnostic test? Just kept pushing different buttons and unplugged and it seemed to reset, but of course came back. Hope that helps someone else who doesn't have the money to replace and knows that Sears won't do it. Good luck!
