Question about Thermador RED30 Electric Kitchen Range

Open Question

Thermador RED30/RED30VQW part needed

Hi there,

I have a Thermador downdraft range, model no. RED30VQW.
The downdraft has stopped working -- the air plenum got damaged inside -- the arms are bent.

The part number is: 143002.
The old part number is: 35-00-587.
The oven serial number is: 97100031.

A used part (or used oven with this part) is okay as well. Or if you have a suggestion on how to fix this, that would be great.
Thanks in advance!

Make sure there is proper electrical power going to range. Then check your kitcen circuit breakers or fuse box in your house, then reset the oven controls.
LOL look what i found, a CHILD LOCKOUT FUNCTION-- check this out
TO SET CHILD LOCKOUT
Press and hold the COOK MIN/HR and STOP TIME buttons until indicator word OFF appears in the
display (approximately 6 seconds).
TO CANCEL THE CHILD LOCKOUT
Press and Hold the COOK MIN/HR and STOP TIME buttons until indicator word OFF disappears
from the display (approximately 6 seconds). Mode selections will now be available on the control panel.
looks like someones could have been playing with the buttons and locked you out..
Let me know what happen.........................please rate this

SOURCE: Thermador PG484GGBS: How to convert from Natural Gas to LP?

I just did it with mine, I called thermador and they told me the number of the conversion kit to buy for my model.

I bought the kit from the retailer and did it myself, not very difficult.

no explosions yet :)

Thermador cook top with down draft ventalation

I would think you can. Most of the cooktops are 240v and the vents are 120v, so the vent may be feeding off of one of the cooktop's hot wires. My vent is fed from it's own receptacle but is harnessed along with the cooktop's 240v.

Downdraft doesn't alway go down and up.

I have the same problem. Seems to be pretty common that the motor that raises the unit goes bad. Ours is 2 1/2 years old and has not seen that much use....that motor should not have failed that soon...and this is a high end product!!! I have been quoted $289 for a replacement motor and $150 for labor!! So, $450 bucks....gads. The unit, new, cost about $900, as I recall.
