STK IC's are mounted on large heat sinks.....Look on the "hidden side" for #s....caution on older sets = they can be difficult even for senior techs....T.

Hi, Where is the IC U11 located? is it on the power supply or the buffer PCBs? You have to have skills to remove and solder the IC and if it's a surface mount then, you need to have the right soldering equipment and you must be an expert.
In my opinion, I would try to replace the whole board instead.
sound like light engine bad mirrors get stuck on ic dmmd "digtal micro mirror device the mirrors get stuct replac ic if u do not have smd soldering exp do not attemt but u can order dmmd ic from samsung or nte electronics.con 50.00$ ic this should fix ur problem have exep tech solder in 4 you 2 replace light engine $900 u get the picture tryin to save u a$ with perfect results hope this help u later bud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! shan
Sounds like a classic convergence problem. most likely bad connections on the bottom of the stk's. If a repairman were to do this for you it would run $300-$500, if you were to do it yourself it would run less than $100. Bad connection on the vertical IC can cause something simular to this as well. If you need more help or would like to fix it on your own please let me know
what knine of tv it is , the stk normaly are on the deflection board or sometimes on the signal board , first u need to have the two stk solder station and solder wick u can faund THE SOLDER STATION at any radioshack
