Question about Dell A940 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Hi, I'm using Windows XP, Microsoft Word, Excel, and my photo editing software is Microsoft Picture-It. This problem has been intermittent, but lately it has become continuous. Any size of font or style of font...makes no difference.. When printing a full sheet of single-spaced text, sometimes there will be some good text at the top of the page, then about 1/3 of the way down the page, there will be blocks of text missing from the printed page. These blank section (or blocks) will be about 3 or 4 lines in height, they will have about 2 or 3 full letters showing at the beginning of the line and then the rest of the entire line is missing. At first, these lines were mostly smudged, blurred and unreadable. Now, it seems to be worsening. On a couple of the lines, there are portions of the sentences showing.... some have just the tops of the letters printed all the way across the page...some have just the bottom portions of the letters showing all the way across the page. It's like someone masked off these sections with tape.
I have taken a full document from Word, did a "Print Screen" and pasted it to a "Picture It" blank document and it prints out just perfect. Grabbing a "print screen" from the internet and pasting it onto a Picture-It document prints fine as well. But printing from my word processing programs (Word, Works Spreadsheet, Notepad, Outlook Express) produces non-useable products.
Both cartridges have been changed, all cleaning and troubleshooting methods have been incorporated. Every possible fix I have found on the internet and Dell website has not solved the problem
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I really love this All-In-One Printer and I just hate to give it up.
Hmm..now..that sounds more like a software issue, than a hardware issue. Can you check on all version updates for the software from MSoft, and ensure that the drivers for your printer, by application, are up to date. From what I'm seeing, this MAY not be a printer issue.
