Hello Community, my Electrolux washing machine has a flashing key symbol, door that won't open, and no cycle will work. I would be very grateful if you could tell me how to solve ?

Hello and welcome to the Fixya Community. Your Child Lock is activated.

When the child lock is activated, there will be a key symbol in the display and all the washing machine buttons will be disabled. To deactivate the child lock, press and hold the start button for three to five seconds. After this time you will hear an audible beep and the key symbol will disappear.

check that the water flow solenoid is operational and not blocking of the spray rinse requriement

What does this symbol mean

This normally means the that it has locked the door to stop an children opening it while it is washing. If it did not lock the door, a child could open it and burn themselves on the hot water.

My son has been pressing buttons and now there is a key symbol showing and i cant resume the cycle?

Press and hold the Start key for 4 seconds until the key symbol disappears from the display. You will then be able to use the machine.

The digital display is showing a KEY symbol flashing, and i can't program a new load. What does this mean?

This is the childproof lock symbol and prevents you from changing a program once it has been selected The symbol flashes if the program is changed during a wash cycle. If the machine is switched off mid cycle with the lock on then it will continue the program as so as the machine is switched back on. To activate the lock press the START button and hold for 4 seconds and the key is displayed. To deactivate the lock press the START button and hold for 4 seconds until the key symbol disappears.

the key symbol is a child lock , look in your manual to see how to turn off this feature

Washing mashine dispalys symbol not in users manual.Where time is displayed it shows a symbol that look like a padlock.The machine does have a key symbol on side panel. Door is showing unlocked. Cannot...

Try buttons "dry" & "spin" together for a few seconds. This could be the child lock display.

Or press "end of cycle" for over 3 seconds.

Or press "options & select" till the light goes off.

Works for other machines..............

Refusing to start cycle. key symbol flashing and a beep

Hol d the start key down for around 5 secs and it will remove the lock. Release the button and press start and it will work again.

Classixx 6 1200 bosch washer...I've set the washer to a programme regularly used but an indicator light 'a Key' symbol flashes above the time indicator and the programme will not start . Door is closed...

You've put the child lock on! When powered key press the on/off button for 5 seconds. This will remove the key!

Try and hold down the Start button for 10-15 seconds, or until the key goes away. If this doesn't work for your washing machine, or your machine is not a Bosch, let me know the make and model and I will help you out.
