Question about Hitachi 50V500 50 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

Bright blue spot in the upper middle of the screen

When I turned on my TV this morning, it made a loud noise and then shut off. It came back on on it's own again, but when it now has a small blue spot (about 1/2" in diameter) in the upper middle of the screen. The color is almost identical to the color of the text on the screen when you change video inputs. The spot is there across all video inputs.

Any idea how to fix this?

Thanks! Have a blue spot on 3/4 of my screen kind of like blobs of blue, how can I fix this.

Hi , it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem. Here's how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo Basically there's 3 LCD chips that create the colors and image by blending together. When these chips start to melt you will get those blue spots, pixilation even vertical lines. You will need to replace the light engine. Have a blessed one!
